Nah, not in the mood for manga lately. Well, I still follow the series I read, but not planning to pick up anything new atm. Next would be Houseki and/or the manga Erin recommended I think, but not right now. it wasn't much but I loved it, I remember when I managed to play for the first time, (I wish I could play it as much as I did with the Zelda games), that's how I got myself in the Nier addiction.

Current arc definitely is hype, makes me think that mb the manga will end after the tournament. A shame the anime likely won't reach Karasuno vs Nekoma, but there are many great moments before that too. Hopefully the same team will return for S3, then I'm sure we're in for a treat.

Have to disagree though, the original Nier is inferior in pretty much every regard (well the OST is close, but not quite Automata level for me). The gameplay is... average, and the story really drags for a long part of the game, where barely anything noteworthy happens. Picks up a lot towards the end, and the twists almost blow your mind, but I would have trouble recommending Nier without Automata (though Automata definitely becomes even better if you played Nier 1 before).Is it really nier addiction or just nier automata cuz it's a big difference when putting the nier serie as a hole ?

For the ost for me it was great, different form automata considering the mood and feeling is supposed to be portrayed differently but similar in a way (cuz same composer)

Yea I guess the passing was slow in some moment but I think those moment when replaying the game will make you appreciate them more considering how much emotional twists happened at the end, one after an other.
Just like nier automata....but I guess nier did the passing a whole lot better.

Let's be honest all yoko taro games before nier automata were a chore to do at some point because of how bad the development teams were and square never caring enough to give them the proper material, so happy that he finally got proper developing team to bring out the most of his story (thank you platinum games the savior of yoko taro games, hope you come back for the next yoko game )
I have my hopes for a remaster(or maybe even a remake but I doubt) because of the success of nier automata in the gaming industry (always up for a ramake cuz mannn there's a lot of fixing to do to bring out the most of nier story....and darkengard, never forget darkengard)

I think both Platinum Games and Yoko can be happy that they basically saved each other in a sense, IIRC the PG president said that Automata basically saved their studio from bankruptcy. Still, I also think it's his best story yet, he's also grown as a writer over time. Don't think a remake would happen (both for first Nier and Drakengard), Yoko just doesn't seem like the type to do that, but a remaster would be something at least. A Nier 1 remake would be great, but I'm fine as long as he continues to make games.

Basically their president said that Nier:Automata saved Platinum Games from a very difficult situation. Article also says why PG was in a pretty bad spot at the time. Yoko was also kinda flustered when asked about it later on
Well I like covers that do things a bit differently, not just almost same track but different voice. For me the metal track left a strong impression, but I can see why not everyone would feel that way.
