Besides Kubo news, there are also the continuous rumors about Sket Dance author, Shimabukuro or Amano coming back soon. Heck, Nurarihyon no author is already back.

I can imagine totally Shonen Jump in 2020-2021 with a lot of its publications being by 2000s authors (we also have Inagaki already). Which makes me wonder...

What about 90s authors? Why are they all mising? Prince of Tennis author I imagine he continues with his endless sequel. But what about Hoshi Engi author? NuBe author? Ninku author? Yu-gi-oh author? (Yeah, we got The Comiq for 7 weeks but...).
So some of the 1995 onwards WSJ manga that lasted at least a year:
Naruto- Masashi Kishimoto (Samurai 8)
The Prince of Tennis- Takeshi Konomi (The New Prince of Tennis ongoing)
Hikaru no Go- Yumi Hotta (did Yuuto for WSJ but flopped, nothing since then) and Takeshi Obata (Platinum End)
Rising Impact- Nakaba Suzuki (moved to Kodansha for The Seven Deadly Sins)
Shaman King- Hiroyuki Takei (moved to Kodansha for Shaman King spinoffs)
Whistle- Daisuke Higuchi (moved to Shogakukan for Whistle W!)
Rookies- Masanori Morita (did Beshari Gurashi which flopped and is nowhere to be heard from since then)
Meiryotei Gotoseijuro- Hajime Kazu (Luck Stealer which ended in 2012)
Seikimatsu Leader-den Takeshi!- Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro (Toriko and oneshots after that but still nothing)
I''s-Masakazu Katsura (Zetman which ended in 2014)
Hanasaka Tenshi Tenten-kun-Kazumata Oguri (now working on Gag manga in Saikyo Jump)
Yu-Gi-Oh!- Kazuki Takahashi (The Comiq, and from the comments he made I doubt he will return to any sort of regular weekly serialization at least)
Hoshin Engi- Ryu Fujisaki (Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu ongoing)
Makuhari- Yasuaki Kita (moved to Kodansha to work on Kenka Kagyou)
Wild Half- Asami Yuuko (did Romancers in 1999 which bombed and is nowhere to be heard from since then)

Kubo..

Dr. Stone has 25 pages next issue, BC gets a CP for Vol 20 release/200th chapter
"Tite Kubo's New Project" is coming
I'm guessing it's a one shot or a short series or something. But it's exciting!

With the Kubo project, it won't be a serialization of Burn the witch, right?

I’m guessing it’ll be a series since they called it a “project”. Although, the word could still just be applied to a one shot. Just feel like if it was a One Shot they wouldn’t make an announcement for an announcement, and just show the oneshot in the “next week preview”.

MHA season 2 ended at the end of Summer season 2017. After Fall 2017, and Winter 2018, season 3 debuted Spring 2018.
That's a 2 cour so it's different, they start production really early and what matters more is probably the difference between start dates. which is almost a year as expected.

2020 is farther than I expected for Neverland s2
Unless it moves out of noitamina we knew it had to be winter 2020 at the earliest since the block is full until then (Given in Summer, Psycho Pass 3 in Fall)

If the One-shot got great responses from readers, then there's a good possibility they might just go with that.

I'm just skeptical since Kubo's health issues are well known. But lets wait and see

Wouldn't that make Kimetsu the first ever 2 cour show by Ufotable if true?

Granted it pretty much has to be 2 cour since they're already hyping the pillars who won't show up until the second half (they'd have to really rush and also end mid-arc to get them in 1 cour) but I think Ufotable's only ever done 1 cour or split cour up to now. I'm curious how things will turn out.

Also I really hope it ends on ch 69, it'd be ideal pacing and also would work as a great finale in general.

I thought season 1 would cover up to the spider family arc. That arc ends at like chapter 45 or something. My assumption was that it was split cour and first half will fix the pacing issue and the second half would adapt the spider family arc. Now I guess season 1 is most likely going to end at the demon train arc? A strong end to season 1 if they do it right.

That means each episode will have an average pacing of 3.38 chapters. With the first 12 or so chapters, it may have a slower pacing to flesh out scenes more since the pacing wasn't that great at the start.
If the One-shot got great responses from readers, then there's a good possibility they might just go with that.
I thought it was written without a serialization in mind? I remember reading that so if someone can confirm that would be nice.

Not at all. It was just part of the whole veteran oneshot campaign WSJ had last year.
I think everyone assumed Mitsutoshi's building adventure oneshot was to be serialized eventually because he seemed interested to return or something.

Technically he just said 26 episodes not 26 continuous episodes

Actually I just saw comments from the 2018 thread where people said that they read it won't be serialized. I vaguely remember reading that so I'll hold off till someone confirms with a source.

Not all the veteran one shots had serializations in mind. Iirc it was only Build King that was explicitly stated it will get serialized depending on how it does.
