Saiyuki is honestly a bit of a mess but it's endearing so I'm quite on board. I won't say it's the best new series in recent years but it's still good. Initially it felt a little like a Sunday manga but recently it's picked up the pace and become much more Jump-like.
I have noticed MangaPlus exclusive releases have started leaking to aggregator sites (The Sign of Abyss, Spy x Family, Dricam, Abyss Rage, Land Lock, Moon Land have all of their chapters up, Arata Primal 5 out of current 10, and Curtain Im' Off Ch.1, Nano Hazard Ch. 1). Guess someone finally figured out how to break the reader protection they had.
Considering it took months for that to happens, I would say yeah. I do not follow what those pics mean?
EDIT: Now all of Nano Hazard chapters up to 25 plus Jimoto ga Japan Ch 2-6. are out. Hm.
I was talking about it some days ago when I used the Land Lock example (50k+ views for 1 chapter alone, MangaPlus calculates everything together and the number is around that). Shuiesha's fault really. They should fire however is in their English marketing team.

1. Too melodramatic
2. Dark as hell atmosphere when most of the characters look 5 years old. It's like trying to make a dark maplestory arc. The antagonist just doesn't feel threatening
3. 7 chapters in and the only battle skill is the nyoibo
4. Emotions are being forced way too hard onto the reader
5. Only 5 named characters so far and the childhood friend will never be seen again so basically 4. And the dad is gonna die say basically 3.
6. No world building. Classic crazy shiet happens in the normal world setting.
7. I have no idea of the structure of the series. Big bad, take down a villain organization, monster of the week? ... Most good series should at least set some expectation for the future by now.
That's why I don't see it as a legendary masterpiece. But it's still great, I teared up a little in it. And the art is amazing as well.

Nobody is calling it a legendary masterpiece and chapter 3 is world building 101, so I'm not sure how learning about the Followers at Chaos and the history of the Nyoibo cant be considered world building lol. Also how is the author putting emphasis on the characterization and development of the main cast is forced emotions lol.? Koharu is a danger to society at 5 years old, blind and disabled, Ryu lost his mother and can't accomplish the dreams that she inspired upon him because of his forced responsibility from his Father, his father has pent up guilt for a mysterious reason. Making a relatable and sympathetic cast is important for grabbing readers attention. Thats literally why its getting praise.

> Chapter 3 is world building...
That's just narration to give us facts. There's been no travelling, no exploration of new places, no news circulating in the world. Perhaps it's preference but I'd like some exploration of other locations.
> How is it forced emotions?
The author is basically force feeding emotions to us, and I personally don't like it when a work doesn't give the reader much room to decide their own feelings. So far the emotions are uncomplicated and too straightforward.
> Relatable and sympathetic cast
I also like the characters and how they are written, which is why I didn't add this in my list of disliked things.
Fair enough. But you can't deny they look more childish than all the other MCs in jump except early Neverland but that actually was written that way with an intent.

World building isn't just exploring places, its exactly what it stands for, just building up the overall world, which is literally what happened chapter 3. I still don't understand what you mean by force feeding. Authors dictate the emotions of the readers all the time, so I'm not sure what the major difference between what Saiyuki is doing compared to, lets say, the beginning start to MHA which literally did the same thing with Deku and his past and relations
I think a lot of those issues are just due to the fact that the series is just starting out, and taking things at a much slower pace than most other Jump series. The current events basically read like an extended prologue, they could have been compressed or cut in order to fit a smaller chapter count, but I think the author used the pacing well in order to flesh out and develop the characters early on in the story. I think whether one method of telling the story is better than the other really falls to the reader's preference though, so it just amounts to different tastes.

Exactly all it is is just a different method of telling a story. Now whether or not its effective will probably be revealed in the coming weeks with its placements.
Listening to Sket Dance OP/EDs at work was not a good idea..... I had stupid grins on my face and also had tears in my eyes as well... Especially the EDs where there is character dialogue. Everything is painful and nostalgic right now...

I agree with this. And I think the slower pacing and focus on character is fine. And regardless of the placements, how effective it has been on each of us should stay the same.
