Air Gear, Negima, SDK, and Getbackers are not popular level one piece and naruto, as well as fairy tail.

Ranking doesn't dictate popularity though? It's a promotional device.
Yes, I wrote this a few years back and would revise the word ranking with placement which still holds weight.
Even if not exact rankings, the continued placement of series are reflective of relative popularity.

I did not specify the year, I spoke vaguely, I did not say exactly whether it was 2000 or not.
then it's no use making me disinformation.
"everyone remembers the old trinity of the jump; Naruto, bleach and one piece.
this is an old thinking is not because of the current president (Nakano)."

Lol. That specifies the early and mid 00''s

Well practically nothing is One Piece or Naruto level.
You suggested that WSM hasn't invested in action series nor do they have a fair selection of popular ones. That is clearly untrue.

The simple matter I think is that Jump in recent years has basically discarded its "Useless, laughable, past" (not my actual thoughts) in favor of treating its long legacy of battle manga has their "actual" canon of series. Non-battle manga isn't really relevant to the current magazine outside of having a sport and romance series or two, methinks.

I'd agree.
I've been saying for a few years now that the issue clearly isn't a drought of action series, but instead an over-saturation of mostly low quality action series.

I don't understand the confusion over Samurai 8's first volume being released in October. Obviously the first volume was pushed back so the release could come at the same time as the anime announcement.

Well, technically yeah.

The thing is though is that, of the ten hits of the last five years of Jump, eight of them were battle manga, either traditional (HeroAca, Black Clover, Kimetsu, Jujutsu, arguably Chainsaw) or mental (Neverland, Stone, Act-Age), while romance has produced two (Yuuna, WNL) and sport and gag have produced none. If that genre is the one which produces the vast majority of your hits and contributes to your cultural identity, and other genres have proven to be far riskier, why shouldn't you go with the better option?

Well I'd argue Neverland is as much action as it is psychological, but that's besides the point.

On paper only producing the genre that does well makes sense, but that over saturation will result in reader burnout and make it harder for series of the same type to stand out and stick around.

Don't disagree with you there, but really that's up to the quality of the writers, I think. Battle manga is pretty limitless in terms of subjects and content, it's just sturgeons law will inevitably come into play as some low quality stinkers are launched. Considering we have as many as eight more series launching this year...we best prepared for a lot more stuff.

Incidentally, it'll be interesting to see how Jump approaches the romance thing, seeing as Yuuna and WNL are approaching the ends of their runs. I'm hoping we get a series akin to Quintuplets that focuses on character development and story over gags and fanservice. A series like that with Nakano!Jump level advertising could be huge.

only that none of you talked about comes close to the success of fairy tail either. She invested, but little.

You’re probably joking, but this actually isn’t that far fetched

Not gonna lie, this didn't hit me until you mentioned and now it actually seems like a possibility.

Wasn't that the pic that people liked to use as a proof of "black clover is popular only in anime form"?
Also, the former editors of MHA talked about the next generation and old generation in the mangaplus interview and put Bleach/Naruto/OP at the same level lol.

I misinterpreted nothing.
What other time period do people lump One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach together like that.
Quit moving goalposts and retconning what you've said. It's embarassing.

look what Xzone said about jump editors
Of course bleach was a pillar along with one piece and naruto, if later he started to stay in the botton and sell little there is another story.

in the era of the soul society he sold a lot along with naruto and one piece, it was later with the hollow world that the sales and the quality of the manga fell.

Bleach didn't get popular until the anime and even during its biggest years it had serious competition with other series in the mag.
Again, you're overestimating Bleach''s popularity. "The big 3" was a western invention.
