Art improved a lot so thats good at least
Am I blind or did spytrue forget his glorious watermark?
General rule of thumb, I have this set-up with battle manga that can generally determine a hit. Those being if, the space of Volume 1:Saiyuuki's problem isn't just being slow, the problem is that it's been almost exclusively infodumps since ch 2 except for 2 brief fight scenes, taking ages to explain not very interesting or important stuff, sometimes repeating itself even, and which could easily be done dynamically instead so that they're not sitting in 1 room chatting about the power system for 2 straight months.
It's all been tell over show aside from the strong first chapter.
That one it did, I guess? But yeah, the rest is all on the fail side. Also, I feel the manga would have been better if the kids are aged up.General rule of thumb, I have this set-up with battle manga that can generally determine a hit. Those being if, the space of Volume 1:
-Introduce at least four characters who feel significant.
Saiyuki...does not fulfill those.
and the other guy with the scar must be the coach or "the little giant" in the story.I see Hinata and Kageyama here. Does the author have some relation with Furudate? The character design is similar.
his last job was a one-shot box called Cute.Does anyone know what happened to Ippei Gotou (mangaka of Hi-fi Cluster)? Ever since that manga ended in early 2015, he is MIA, I can't find a single work of his since then. Maybe he left the manga industry?
Thanks! In 2015 as well I see? Probably gone, too bad. I liked Hi-Fi Cluster for what it is (it wasn't good at all, but the idea was great). Seems like a similiar thing for Yuu Miki (Cyborg Ningen Roggy, also sci-fi flop in WSJ) as well, publishing one miniseries on GIGA and going MIA for 3 years now.his last job was a one-shot box called Cute.
^This. I was trying to pinpoint what Saiyuki was lacking the first 3 chapters. The premise is good, but the pacing has been...underwhelming to say the least.General rule of thumb, I have this set-up with battle manga that can generally determine a hit. Those being if, the space of Volume 1:
-Get through all the boring introduction stuff.
-Maintain a strong focus on the protagonist as one of the cores of the story.
-Introduce at least four characters who feel significant.
-Maintain a proper drive and goal.

beautiful character design. This is going to be so much more epic and better than All Out!Am I blind or did spytrue forget his glorious watermark?
Dude on the left would fit so well in KnB universe.
How many chapters does a regular first volume covers?? I'm guessing it's seven, so if i'm wrong, please correct me.-Get through all the boring introduction stuff.

It did those things, there's just too much dialogue. The arts really good, if the author focused on that standing out using his art I think it would've been more successful. Who nows, with the first arc coming up maybe it'll have decent reception and climb up the ToCHow many chapters does a regular first volume covers?? - It covered a lot, world backstory, main villains, reason for confront and main battle system, although they did present other important concepts only after, a lot has been made already, so I feel comfortable saying check.
- Everything (that doesn't take part in a backstory) has something to do with Ryuunosuke, so I guess it's a check.
- Ryuunosuke, Koharu, Sai, Gohaku (the dad).
- Stop Koharu from materializing several monsters around the entire world, to do so, protect her from the Followers of Caos, i would also say check.
Thing is, it did all that in ch 1 (aside from having 3 characters introduced rather than 4). Then it spend most of the rest of vol 1 on an extra story that just repeated what we already learned and saw in ch 1 but worse. And then it spent another half a volume introducing characters that seemed like they'd be interest but it just resulted in even more sitting in a room infodumping stuff of we already know. How many chapters does a regular first volume covers?? Id disagree, so many series do not do this, where their major setpieces were in the first three chapters, while after that was typical school life hijinks etc.It just showcases how vital the first set of chapters are. You have to make an impression, and then quickly have it go somewhere or amount to something within the first volume.
