Toriko was REALLY good until all the food started looking like an oozy mess. When the food didn't appeal anymore, so did the series.
Toriko was great, especially pre-TS, very creative with its world-building even during the TS world building was amazing. I rate Toriko a 9/10 pre-TS but TS brings it down. My complaints was the TS started out bad with skipping Toriko saving Komatsu. Then it had that awful 3 area skip and the final area rushed nearly completely, characterization/development & world building gone down the drain. That brought Toriko down to a 7 maybe even a 6 for me but what "saved" Toriko was definitely it's ending. Toriko's ending is spectacular and honestly the best by far in recent times. That brought Toriko from a 6-7 to a light 8. The ending was that good for me and strong endings are hard to pull off.

As someone mentioned, Takeshi is better. The story is messy at the start from what I read but the characters are fantastic, plus the first fight beats most of Toriko's fights IMO. Very manly and had emotional impact for me with Bonchu's backstory. I heard from the Japaense that the ending for Takeshi is amazing so it makes me want to learn Japanese just so I can read it. Sadly find time to learn is quite hard atm.

Shouldnt there be two manga in pedo section? :derp
Fuck off

That's good to know! I never finished reading Toriko, even though I just didn't read the last 30 chapters or so. I'll pick it up to read the rest eventually but that motivates me more.

Besides TENJIN that ended today, Jump+ has also axed the biweekly manga Houki ni Matagaru Shuukatsu Sensou after 22 chapters and disastrous sales (ranked #476 on Shoseki Day 1 of Vol 2 release lmao)

So, with Kimetsu #15 back into the top 30 this week (in shoseki rankings) and the rest of the volumes still at the top 75 (and going up), how much do you think the volumes will get to eventually? #1 was around 300k, and I think it may even get to 500k, mayyyyybe even 600k

Wait, can someone summarize what's going on with the release date of Samurai 8's first volume?

Eh? No. It'll do max 400k unless this boost goes on for another 6 months.

Push back to October from July/August release

Heiji suggests that it will either go into monthly or they plan to release 1 and 2 simultaneously, else Shuiesha makes no sense.

I was curious so I checked the big three. A five-month gap doesn't seem that strange.

One Piece
First chapter: July 1997
Volume 1: December 1997

Naruto
First chapter: September 1999
Volume 1: March 2000

Bleach
First chapter: August 2001
Volume 1: January 2002

For once, my interest in half year sales is going to come from WSM (mainly 5toubun having high chances to be over freaking Nanatsu).

Focusing in Jump:
-I'll guess Neverland is going to beat both MHA and Haikyuu
-Wondering if Kimetsu will manage to get 9th or 10th place spot

I'm guessing we'll never see Black Clover again in a top-10 sales like in 1st half of 2018 :emobirb

Just because Kimetsu's volume 1 sales are past 300k doesn't necessarily mean the series will pass that point. The volume 1 sales for most series are always much higher than it sells on average or currently sells in a given year (ongoing).

I still stand by my first prediction that Kimetsu will have similar manga success to World Trigger. I think its low-mid 300k's? Once the demon train arc in the anime is adapted then I could see that being the peak point of the manga sales so maybe close to 400k. 500k or 600k sounds unlikely imo.

BLack Clover getting its 300K and WT almost getting a 400K up there, nice. Both definitely over 500K with digital sales incorporated.
