1 manga serialization rounds in WSJ from 2004 onwards were (Hatsukoi Limited was paired with HxH's return so it doesn't count)

-Muhjo to Roji (replaced oneshots)
-Waqwaq (replaced Shaman King)
-Kikai Banashi Hanasaka Ikkyu (replaced Omagadoki Dobutsuen)
-Kurogane (replaced Kikai Banashi Hanasaka Ikkyu lol)
-Jaco the Galactic Patrolman (replaced Sket Dance), though 2 newbies debuted just 2 issues after
-Isobe Isobee (replaced Jaco the Galactic Patrolman)
-Iron Knight plus oneshots (replaced Kurokuroku and Himedol)
-Hinomaru Zumou (replaced Tokyo Wonder Boys)
-Best Blue (replaced Ultra Battle Satellite, GFC oneshots came instead of Naruto Gaiden)
-Buddy Strike plus oneshots (replaced Kagamigami and Best Blue)

I mean, Jaco was just a goofy little one-volume manga Toriyama did as part of his retirement, hardly a full manga. And didn't Tokyo Wonder Boys bomb harder than possibly any manga in Jump history?

I mean, Saiyuki and Yui Kamio seem right about to be canceled, and Hinomaru is looking to soon as well soooo...
I doubt they get axed now, as last 2 rounds were already close to each other and I assume Jump will wait until GFC starts, which can be anywhere from #35-#40. Souma will end on #30.

Correct for TWB.

Short series still generally take up a place in the magazine though, The Comiq also did I think and so does HxH each time it returns for another ~10 chapter run.

I could see Souma getting possibly replaced for a gag manga (since they now have none and I do not consider Kamio Yui a gag at all) as a one-off round and will axe the rest around GFC (after the time for Kamio and Saiyuki Vol 1 releases).

Watch as that series bombs horrendously as well.

For all we know, Boruto might be announcing that it's gonna be a weekly series.

I'd be happy to see wsj do a cooking gag manga. Would certainly be nice as a replacement.
It'd be a great change indeed.

I feel like people would like Boruto better overall as a weekly series. It would eliminate that sense of waiting a month for what should have been a weekly chapter story-wise.

I don't understand why y'all putting Hinomaru like it's ending in 5 chapters when they could have perfectly 3-4 months more of content unless they do a huge timeskip.

Also, why would we need a serialization round NOW? It's just Soma ending and Boruto maybe moving because we want to assume that's the announcement, when it may be not, lmao.

Yeah, I agree. It is written as a weekly manga, which doesn't fit the monthly model it is based on. Either it should move to SQ or it should become a permanent weekly series. Turning it to weekly could also make sense since it would just take over the Souma spot (from what I remember, a monthly manga doesn't take a spot itself as it's a special case)

Some of the announcement predictions are getting ridiculous now lol.

Than transition of going from being a monthly mangaka to a weekly mangaka in the matter of a week or 2 would be murder

Maybe they want more cushions for Samurai 8 :^)

It's either 1) Boruto becomes weekly (while interesting, unlikely), 2) 1 manga serialization round (maybe to introduce a new gag manga) and 3) oneshots until the new round starts around GFC (likely). 100 percent confident that Jump won't axe anything now, it's silly to have 3 rounds this close to each other, and the 2nd is just finishing.

I wonder if it's possible for Shokugeki to do a special side story/bonus epilogue to fill space briefly like Ass Class did after it ended.

It does have a spin-off about french boy after all, it would be kind of nice to see a mini-story about a different chef or even a short sequence of oneshots about various chefs.

They already have Soma, Yuuna, Kamio, Saiyuuki and Chainsawman for that, no need to destroy potential good series :'(

Of course there's no need to axe anything because it's not time for that. Like come on, Saiyuuki can still last (maybe it'll end up in U19 club if it keeps like this) and Kamio can even receive +20 chapters because of its mangaka. Hinomaru is not ending yet, neither is Yuuna or WNL which could and will probably be the in-some-future-time ending series. And that's pretty much all.
I would bet for either 2 or 3, being 3 the most likely right now. And regarding Boruto, I'm already prepared for it to be a movie/shit mobile game.
