Current MHA arc is definitely better than the previous one, but is still pretty bad and carries on the flaws that Horikoshi keeps using, granted I stopped reading MHA for the last couple of chapters.

Isn't that what a training arc is though? I always thought the main focus of training arcs wasn't the training itself, but when the characters show off the results.

Regardless, it's still a pretty great arc, it's a nice change from the slow paced JT arc.
Not necessarily, Its not like they were even having the intent of training in the first place, they were just being tested by someone. Its literally a war arc between 2 villian groups

I guess it's arguable. MHA is funny because you can call almost every arc a training arc by some measure but the actual training almost always get skipped. Stain had more training in it than Joint Training, for example.
Joint Training arc was literally just a practice battle for Class A and B. They weren't teaching them anything, it was just an introduction to Class B

That's kinda my point. Even though it has training in the name, there wasn't any training on it. So is it a training arc or not? What is a training arc? How do we define it?

But in this case it's really just a test battle. They aren't learning anything in this arc, all the actual training happens in flashbacks.

yeah I'm not disagreeing with you I was just saying that the intent was just a test and not necessarily for training

They learned things afterwards when Aizawa and Vlad broke down their battles. There was good character growth in the arc

Current MHA arc is the best thing running in Jump currently, imo
I agree though these last 3 One Piece chapters have been some heat. Wano might be turning around

This implies every Jump manga is currently bad, because this arc is not good. The fanboysim is unbelievable when it comes to MHA here
Pretty sure couple of days ago people were going off saying the series wasn't that good and saying BC was better. The series is popular but nobody hesistates to talk about what they dont like about it. People just got different opinions man lol

Sunday's had a couple decently popular gag manga in the past couple years but I think that's about it besides the Conan spin-off.

I think at this point WS Champion is bigger than Sunday.
Komi-san wa Komyushou Desu is doing very well sales wise. Ironically, there is a massive gap on Oricon between it and the next Sunday manga after Komi, Soubutei Kowasubeshi (100k+ for Komi and 40k+ for Souboutei). When your three strongest newbies are Kimi wa 008, Zero Tea Time and Tonikaku Kawaii (one being a spinoff of Conan, and two coming from veteran mangakas and one selling around 40k and one struggling to break-out), you know it's not good.

Though to be honest, Sunday should be held to lesser standards than WSM and WSJ.

Saying something is the most interesting thing in jump will obviously spark discussions regardless and either because its right or just pure fanboyism and to me it is the latter that is all

That reminds me about the stuff I mentioned some days ago with what would happen if WNL and 5toubun have swapped magazines.

I mean, WSM has very little repercusion for some motive (Sunday has way more following), yet 5toubun has beat a Jump title in a direct sales confrontation. So, would 5toubun be still more known if it had been a Jump title? I know there are people who still don't know or haven't read 5toubun because is a WSM title.

Opposite way goes for WNL, is known because is a Jump title (and structured in typical Jump style, like Nisekoi or Ichigo 100%). But I feel WNL in Magazine wouldn't create the impact 5toubun has created.

I know is abstract stuff, I'm still being shocked about 5toubun possibly becoming the biggest hit in this decade regarding romcoms. Not even TWGOK had the impact 5toubun is having (and TWGOK had a very big impact). However, I'm reading all time WNL anime hasn't created any impact and manga sales haven't risen up.
WNL on Shonen magazine would be a completely different manga, much like Gotoubun wouldn't exist as it is on Shonen Jump. The fact that WNL follows the same model of previous romcom harem of jump in history is clear enough, as it is that a new one will follow a similar model as well.

WNL is not good manga
It actually is.

I guess 5toubun being a slightly deconstruction of romcoms, and above all, the entire cast being very solid and enjoyable (specially Yotsuba) has helped a lot. All the quints are very enjoyable and the MC is also very enjoyable and is not an idiot in the ''rom'' moments.

Meanwhile WNL lately seems it only goes up in ranks when is a Sensei chapter. I'm guessing we are going to get a Rizu arc in the future though.

I'd say the Jump title that makes me feel closest to 5toubun story-wise could maybe be Act-age, despite not being a romcom.
Gotoubun isn't a deconstruction of romcom, not even on romcom harem. The difference is that it focus more on it's romance part, instead of comedy.

Aside from that, WNL had 3 arcs on the last 30 chapters or so, much like some individual chapters with smaller developments so it's not really just Kirisu.

MHA's "training" arc right now is probably the worst point of the series. Main cast got way too strong so what does Hori do? Use newly introduced villains as stepping stones for LoV. Again. The worst part is some of the new characters have some interesting motives and could potentially be good characters so it sucks to see they'll be gone and forgotten after being used to give the LoV stupid powerups.

This reads like something ChocoBar9 would say. Anyways, no you're incorrect. Budget has nothing to do with the manga boost or why the anime is currently a big success for TV Tokyo.
Yup. It's like this.

So everyone who likes an arc of a manga which you don't like is a fanboy?
I mean you're implying that its fanboyism that people think its good when they just think the arc is good unlike you
Its true that I think it is not that great of an arc, but it is not the best thing currently running in jump. If you generally believe it is the best thing right then yes I will call you a fanboy.

I really hope Tokyo Shinobi Squad doesn't end up being another demon fighting manga, we've already got three successful ones (two of which are about the exact same kind of demon even) and multiple flop ones, we really don't need any more.

EiC please stop it

Stop. ITs the best genre and the one most guaranteed for success. Theres been way more hits than losses in the demon fighting genre in JUMP than with other genres, like sports.

WNL (now at Chapter 18) along with it's inspiration Nisekoi are in the "meh" category, nothing special, nothing amazing. Early Nisekoi chapters (up to the Chitoge's mother arc) were really good, but then it went into a round of stale and boring arcs while bringing new boring characters (Haru and Yui, especially Haru being one of the most unneccesary characters I have seen). Not to mention one of the most predictable harem manga winners ever (doesn't help Nisekoi had a one-shot before that is enough revealing).

WNL has a bonus that it has a lot more likeable girls all around (though it replaces some Nisekoi cliches with others) and is ambiguous in who is winning. Both pale against GoToubun though.
