The way Paul uses the bangs that are always on standby reminds me of the 'Truth-Seeking Balls' in the Narutoverse.

Also, 'Pole' (Paul) using a pole-weapon was lost on me until just now.
Ha. It could actually be a wrong romanization of the name and his actual name is bayroad pole....

The first time he was introduced the spoiler translations said Paul/Pole IIRC

edit:

Let us begin. We come back to, again, Khun tele-yeeting Team Rachel. ...

Intern-chan: WTF do I do? Her... pet: kills the extras, throws up a high ranker, Baylord Pole, Yama's younger brother.

Translation by Adiocorea from discord.

Yes it is because they were not active after ascending.the tower . While she was the head of Jahad army , so she surely was rewarded for anything that her squadron could have done . Furthemor she is like the right hand of Jahad . And i am speaking of they maximum power . Until the beginning difference between irregulars and non irregulars have been made clear even for the most talented . Why i am so sure of that ? Enne Zahard was the child of 2 irregular . So she was insanely powerful . But she posessed blood of 2 irregular she wasn't a actual one . It is the same for Adori who is ranked the same.
Technically, Baam is a regular that was born to 2 irregulars in the tower.

I wonder what it is about going through those tower doors uninvited that magically imparts super-powers.

More technically, his body once belonged to a child who was born to two Irregulars inside the Tower. Zahard murdered that child. Baam as we know him was given life outside the Tower.

And I acknowledged that by bringing up him going through the tower doors in the same post you quoted. My point was his origin.

Let me put it another way.

If Enne (prior to Zahard blood) was killed, and resurrected outside of the tower (creating a situation no different from Baam - born from two strong irregulars and res'd to come back in), would she be JUST as strong or MORE strong than the real Enne by magically coming in through the tower doors? She'd otherwise be the exact same. The only difference is her location. Unless there is some sort of buff that comes with either being res'd or entering the tower door magically imparts some strange power. Obviously coming in doesn't make one a party to tower contracts, but is there something else?

Put one more way.

What if Baam grew up in the tower (was never killed, grew up to the same age as real Baam)?

Would he be just as strong? Stronger (initially)? Less potential? The same? Would he still be soft as pudding in spite of his amazing heritage?

Basically the Baam we know is the exact same as the hypothetical Baam that grew up inside the tower, he just existed momentarily outside the tower before coming in. (death or no death, unless that 'reset' him completely)

So, unless the spell of resurrection ALSO granted him extra powers, did the crossing the threshold magically give him unlimited potential?

Put one last way.

Baam is different from other irregulars (as far as we know). Yes, they all came in from outside but - again, as far as we know - all other irregulars were born outside the tower. Baam's... stock if you will, came from inside the tower, was brought outside and reanimated, just to enter again.

Edit: one last thought experiment:

What if Baam died in the tower and resurrected in the tower?

Would he be just as strong and with just as much potential as real Baam? This is as close to an apples to apples Baam comparison that only changes one variable. The only difference is WHERE he was resurrected. Is Baam res'd outside the tower more powerful than a Baam res'd inside the tower?
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Oh, shit, now I've confused myself more.

How ISN'T Enne an irregular?
How HASN'T Baam ALWAYS been an irregular, even when he was born inside the tower?

It's all about the soul imo when baby bam died he lost his soul or most of it, the God outside gave him a new one or restored but altered(the sun) the one he lost, FoD arc is all about souls out of bodies, we know Arlene preserved his body nothing about his soul, maybe she could do the same as Gustang probably or zahard destroyed his soul.

Arlene and revived bam probably mirrored yura mom and her ai son situation, where bam was seal had zahard symbols was in the cave, so young bam didn't give too shits about her revenge then she called him a monster and she used rachel.

Bam raised in the tower would have a lot of his innate talent still and being raised by Arlene plus V he would be much stronger than he is now, training and understanding shinsu from baby with the best teachers, so no thorn, devouring powers, revolution, shinwonryu and lesser blessing, but he could make up most of that his parents are rich.

the outside God power/soul imo is combination of original bam soul and fragment of the God soul, which powered up bam natural abilities/potential and gave him a few perks.

this bam is his own person he is trying to find what that truly means, that alone proves original bam died already, Bam memories might be seal by Arlene magic which should be powerful maybe its what cancels out other spells near him, akryung is far shadowing stuff already.

Soul(s) is a theme in ToG... so is genetics though (and by extension bodily strength and limitations). What of the potential of the actual Baam body?

Do you think Baam had his OWN soul replaced into his body, or did he perhaps gain a separate soul (and if so... whose soul)?

And is a different soul in the same flesh-body going to affect the outcome when it comes to things like physical limitations? (it would make sense as to affecting his ability to put 'things' 'in' his 'soul' though)

Generally speaking, when one thinks of being resurrected what one imagines is the subject is restored to his/her previous self.

If one was reanimated with a soul from another being that would just be the flesh brought back. We can't say 'Baam' was restored, but just his flesh... now with extra soul!

Makes me wonder if we'll ever get a reveal to these kind of questions.

Baam should be able to take him between floor 50 and 60 . Yama should be able to take Kallavan mid difficily or pretty easily . Even Yama is a fodder compare to other Slayer . And them are fodder to Luslec who himself is fodder to enne and Adori jahad . Who are also foder to FH . And them are weaker than Zahard . So yes in 3 - 4 arc Baam need to defeat this kind of ennemy .
That makes a lot sense bam best wave controller in the by 70th floor imo.

Seriously looking at how bam scales overall another 5-10 yrs(generous) him fighting kallavan and putting up a fight seems most logical imo, so a couple time skips after a big reveal or new power or teacher is very easy SIU does it alot, a year or 3 is nothing really if them just climbing to get to a plot point.

Bam base abilities full powers is the answer to how much time he needs before kallavan, going by what we know now bam without the reservoirs still counting his blessing and everything else is top b or a class regular that his current strength imo, that a lot a ground to cover without the hax powers, who knows how much power he would need without the reservoirs and using his own actual shinsu capacity against rankers? He doesn't even bother.
[/QUOTE]

He is largly stronget than a B rank he is at least one of the strongest A rank or ranker level .

Is Baam res'd outside the tower more powerful than a Baam res'd inside the tower?
In the long run, yes. Everyone born within the Tower has an inherent limit. Irregulars who come in from outside are exempt from that. Baam would have eventually run into his ceiling had he not been reborn outside the Tower's walls.

And that's what I was getting at. Just passing through the doors, with no other change at all, imparts some magical gift to the traveler.... seemingly.

Also, as I alluded to in my post above this one, I'm starting to think that, like Enne, Baam WOUDLN'T have had limitations (effectively irregular) even if he had been born and raised in the tower.

You guess wrong Irregulars are superior to all non irregulars ( i dont count Rachel ) . Irregulars are limitless potential while regulars has limit .
Having unlimited potential and making actual use of it are two entirely different things. Bam has unlimited potential since season one.
The heads had a lot of time developing their abilities, the question is if all of them actually did it - and if the common growth rate for an irregular has to be faster than the growth rate of someone who isn't.
In a lot of cases, the guy who works harder beats the one witalent / "unlimited potential".

As for the irregular discussion, I think we have to differ. There are the ones that entered from the outside and weren't selected by Headon - Rachel would count as well.
And then you have what the butler guide told Evan. That the "tower" only opens the door for things he needs. As in, the tower has got some kind of consciousness. That would fit what the GoG told us - that only those who opened the door are capable of shinwonryu and stuff. Meaning that the tower gives his "champions" "special powers" to be able to do his bidding.

The question remains why the tower can't just choose a regular or High Ranker as his "champion" (or maybe it can? - Akryung, GoG,....or maybe that is a wokrshop / technology / spell thing).
If the tower can't do that, maybe it's about the original purpose of it and said purpose can only be fulfilled by people on the outside - because they need to be free of the contracts inside or .........

I think Paul should be "Peaul", and Pole should be "Poleu", but am not sure. It could be Pol as in Pol Pot.

So far I can only think of 3 major upgrades he would lose: Thorns, Shinworyu and Revolution. He can be untraceable by Guides and use Shinsoo without a contract as well, tho. The rest would still be his.

It is stated in lore that Adori has no noticeable achievements after becoming a ranker, tho. It should be a matter of Power for real.

And so would the variable upper limit that all of the Tower-born are cursed with. The original Baam could have had a level limit of like 999,999 where most people cap out somewhere in the hundreds or so. But a ceiling is still a ceiling, and as an Irregular he can breach the millions, or tens of millions, or however far his desire for growth pushes him to go.

Rachel has a higher theoretical potential than Adori Zahard. In her case, that will never matter because she's worthless and won't actualize that potential. Baam is not like that.

Uerik told Hell Joe who is arguably one of the strongest people we as the viewers have seen that within the tower that he is still small fry. Kallavan is powerful but still small fry within the tower. We all thought the pinical of power within the tower was princess Yuri until Kallavan turned her into small fry.

Baam being on Kallavan's level now would be fitting seeing as the scale Baam needs to be on is god like. Beings like floor rulers seem to be capable of altering the terrain with just flexing their power like Evankhell and Elliot.

Within the tower there are many powerful people. Especially within the Zahard army.

Who ever thought that? I'd like to know, because I have a prime summer retreat in Siberia that I'd like to sell them.

Well for now I would say he has a new soul, it's a fragment of the God outside soul, which could have devour bam original soul formed this personality from it, Bam always been kinda godlike with his outlook, actions and preaching to people in the tower, they know something is fundamentally different even for an irregular, look how easily he dismissed Rachel obsession with stars as foolish in the cave, he did the same to Arlene before with her revenge.

Well it should assuming revolution is him drawing power from its source the sun/soul, he said it unstable and has stamina issues, if he was with his original soul/source of power then revolution would gone more smoothly, his body has to acclimate to the soul full powers slowly it seems.

Yeah that how basic reviving usually goes that why I draw comparisons between Arlene and bam with yura mom and zahad ai taking over the baby body, it's foreshadowing for bam past imo, he revived just the God outside personality traits might have rubbed off on him.

I don't think that his personality has got anything to do with the god. It's more about Rachel and what she taught him (mother/best friend/ love interest all in one). Best example for my theory would be Bam saying something about never betraying a women (or the world ceiling will fall down) and the flashback we got after that (black march bet)

After re-read this chapter again, Is Gado really a traitor?

I actually didn't see Gado killing anyone from the cage. Roland(the girl who was with him in that ship) maybe is just unconscious. Canzon didn't died. And the fourth guardian seems unconscious too.

I'm trying to predict what battles will happen:

Yama vs Paul (?)

If Gado is really a traitor then

Baam vs Gado (?) or Baam and Canzon vs Gado (?) or Karaka vs Gado

Elder's high priest vs Baam or Karaka (?)

About the others rankers...

Venti or Grande will probably try to stop Baam from wake up Yama in the next chapter so I think they will be defeated there. Though I want to Grande joins Baam's har... I mean group, look at her legs It would be a waste to kill her :c

The others will be defeated by Yama's rankers.

And to end this arc:

Yama, Baam and Karaka vs Yama's older brother (?)

It's quite possible, but all we know is the 'god' outside reanimated him - we don't yet know if he returned his existing soul, or if he/it is using Baam's body to enter the tower himself/itself.

It appears Gado has betrayed Yama - he has attacked his own ship, Canzon, met with Paul (after killing #4), and the translations say he has been accepted by Paul for his pack.

I'm going to guess that Gado fights Canzon (who seemingly lived, but will come back to beat his nemesis)
Paul fights Baam
Yama fights older bro again?
Baam takes on most rankers

I wouldn't count on simultaneous pairings. Grande will likely get decimated by Yamma at the moment he wakes up. From then on, whoever meets a stronger guy Will die, and circunstances Will Tell who lives or dies until Yamma meets the Elder or his bros. Once the strongest guy in the other side has fallen, everyone else goes with them cause the Winner Will vanquish the rest of the Enemy team. That's what I see happening.

Baam after 2 years of training is kallavan level??? this is just ridiculous if this is true then there is no reason to even rescue Jinsung hes not dying or anything...Baam can just go and work out another 10 years and murk stomp zahard and his forces alone..
