I mean...Charmy from Black Clover is based on Tabata's wife, but you don't see me complaining there. Mostly because, in not being the protagonist, the authors emotional attachments don't warp the manga around it.

I mean, I understand the argument that Saiyuki's slow pacing hurts its chances at being successful, but I don't really think it made for a bad manga. Maybe ill-suited for Jump.

Speaking of kids, I just realized Togashi's youngest is only like 11.

Around the same age difference as me and my dad (42 years). :outta

Over praising for newer series can be equally as annoying, i.e SPY x FAMILY. It wouldn't bother me if it got axed, it's gotten that obnoxious.

Kaguya Sama fell under that same category. Good god, those characters are fucking annoying.

Combination of hyperbole and recency bias can indeed become a problem.

I've just started to cut out any discussion on Spy x Family all together, it's a cute series and I like it, but I'm afraid I'd start to hate it if I had to deal with overexposure and praise.

Just realized the mangaka duo for Act Age are 90s "kids". It's shocking how they can handle the life of a mangaka, that's very impressive, even for a duo.

The idea that Shiro Uzuzaki is less than two years my senior kinda astonishes me.

And yeah, it's easy to forget that the current generation of mangaka, Horikoshi, Tabata and so on, aren't being influenced by Dragon Ball and its contemporaries, they'll solidly inspired by the Big 3 and their ilk. It's lead to a very different feel to the current generation overall.

Pierrot gets JJK and Toei gets Act Age, worst timeline
Toei don't really have interest on series outside of what they already do so nah.

That's why Toriko & WT happened right? Toei offered a lot of success anime adaptations for WSJ so I'm confident Toei is going to get one of these newer titles eventually.

Aside from Kado which could have been due to being CG what's the last Toei anime to not be a long runner? I doubt aa would be so if the CG theory is accurate Toei probably has no interest.

Toei only netted Toriko because it was being pushed like crazy by Shueisha due to nepotism (since Shimabukuro was Oda's best friend). Needless to say, I think it backfired on them in the long-term. As for World Trigger...I dunno.

General note but, from my ventures in the JP Jump-space, it seems Beast Children really just isn't hitting it. Blame a combination of Haikyu not suffering at all in popularity and thus readers not seeing the need for a new sport hit any time soon, along with the general quality of the manga itself.

BTW, call me crazy, but would it be accurate to say that the modern era is geared more to female readers than ever before? I mean, I've read sources that say most of the major hits for Jump are about 5:5 on the gender ratio reader-wise, and Dr Stone, which I imagine has the fewest female readers, is infamously the weakest preforming despite being promoted a lot. I dunno, I just think it may very well be the case.

S8 Fans: with just 5 chapters Samurai 8 is the most unique and best manga to come out in years and people hating on it will feel stupid when it’s the biggest manga series in the world 2 years from now

Also S8 Fans: what!? Stop saying bad things about the series. It’s still new and only 5 chapters. You can’t judge its quality with just 5 chapters.

Wouldn't Yuuna be likely lower? Maybe WNL too (I think when people were posting the ratios it had like 8:2 and I doubt Stone is too much more in favor of males)

I mean, I can't see a woman reading Yuuna without setting the thing on fire, so I feel that supports my point.

Doesn't matter, like you said they picked up WT. I don't want them doing AA personally but I would be lying if I said it's not a possibility.

I guess. Kimetsu is one of them as the fujo fanbase is big for that one. You can't pass a pixiv page for Kimetsu without seeing a handful of fujo art.

the hinata, for example, is it not inspired by the wife of the kishimoto?
So much so that in The Last- Naruto movie the hinata gives a naruto scarf, which is based on a scarf that the kishimoto's wife gave him.
Kishi didn't write the last movie, he got a romance writer to do so. Similarly I see no evidence that Hachimaru is based on his son.
