Looking here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_series_run_in_Weekly_Sh%C5%8Dnen_Jump

It seems there's usually around 10 issues between the debut of the last series of a batch and the first one of the next (at least recently). So yeah, August seems likely. Do you think Sumo or Yuuna may end by then or it's just gonna be Soma's free space + Yui and Sayuuki getting the axe?

Great interview yet again. So glad that they've been doing this, I'm loving to read.

It's interesting how if the editor picks the phone, they're then the editor responsible for judging the series and then to become their editor. I don't remember that being mentioned before.

Also interesting at how he was refused before, probably due to his drawing. lol
In Bakuman, we see something similar.

The editor who received the protagonists was the one who decided if the manga (or the authors) have prospects and he was their editor (although I think the protagonists had a change of editor at some point).

I see a chance of 3 new manga round. There is also a chance HXH may return so...

They could also wait for Beast, Taisei and Tokyo and then decide (if some of these sink below Saiyuki or Yui) for a bigger round.

After I read the interview, I was curious about something:

Are there female protagonists in WSJ before the Promised Neverland?

EDIT: I've never read Dr. Slump, but it seems it has a female protagonist (Arale).

Kiruko-san, and I think Kuramada write a manga with a female lead before Ring ni kakeru series (idk if it were in Jump or super Jump).
Also Medaka, but she is the MC or deuteragonist depending your opinion

Read the Neverland interview, fantastic read. Had no idea the artist is female!

I like how the Chapter 31 ending/early Ch
32 is mentioned (while drawn top notch and brings hype, I found that "experimenting" kind of out of place for a character that literally drops that right there). Still remember how it managed to fool into thinking that
"Emma would turn evil"
.

Sukeban Arashi, Kurumada very first Jump title. It was serialized in 1974 and lasted less than two years. It was in Shonen Jump, yep.

Dunno if I can count Highschool Kimengumi in the list of Jump manga with a female lead.

If we count romcoms, To Love-Ru, Video Girl Ai and I's the girl had the lead role. Not so sure about Wingman.

Also, JoJo Part 6

EDIT: Shape Up Ran, Shadow Lady, Outer Zone, we can even count Midori Makibao if we count animals (Makibao was a she, I recall)

EDIT2: Oh. Cat's Eye. How could I forget it.

Yeah. The situation of Medaka can be confusing regarding the MC.

I always thought Zenkichi was the MC, but Medaka has a lot of protagonism.
I'd consider them both protagonists just like i'd consider Emma, Ray and Norman protagonists of TPN

I'm using this current talk to post this.

PD: It hurts me how even while Cat's Eye full manga is already scanlated to english, City Hunter is forever stuck in chapter 160 with only 5 volumes left

The goat

Judging by past trends, we should be getting part 6 anime next year. Spring 2020 probably

Many thanks for the answer.

It seems Dr. Slump from Toriyama has a female MC (Arale).

I've understand your point. However, in TPN, it's clear that Emma is the main protagonist of the story, while Ray and Norman are deuteragonists.

This is more unclear in Medaka Box.

Can someone look at this? People on 4chan say it means Hinomaru Zumou is entering climax. From this issue.

I would maybe peek at the cover of the first volume to uh answer this one

So yeah I think about this a lot and this is all I got:
Sukeban Arashi
Izumi-chan Grafitti
Dr. Slump
Stop!! Hibari-kun (though intent and protagonist are both up for debate)
Shape-up Ran
AT Lady
Outer Zone (kinda. Misery is the presenter)
Neural Network Melinda Fight
Bomber Girl
Shadow Lady
(Maybe) Wrestling with Momoko (need to get around to reading it)
Stone Ocean
Muteki Tetsuhime Spin-chan
Medaka Box (sometimes)
Neko Wappa
Shinmai Fukei Killco-san (MY FAVOURITE!!)
Edison in Love (IIRC)

I’ve probably (definitely) missed a few, and am probably misattributing series that are about a women versus the woman actually being the main (protagonist/deuteragonist stuff gets mixed up sometimes in those sorts of series), but they’re all worth noting

From what I can translate, it says something like "Sumo pro arc's climax, with extended 25 pages"

Well, considering word double-speak terms, that basically confirms the manga is ending.

Well, climax can be an ambiguous word. I remember the Dressrosa arc from One Piece 'reaching its climax' like five separate times according to color spreads and editor's notes. Although I assume HZ moves at a different pace.
