I have to say, I absolutely hated the mc design and his stupid pose with a passion. Having it gone from Jump bring me happiness

JgJ is a funny manga (sometimes), Japan and the rest of the cast are interesting (sometimes)

I like Hayashi sense of comedy and his "meh" art never bothered me, hopefully he will return once the Saykio Jump run is finished

There’s actually a pretty strong tradition of gag manga adaptations like this, so I mean it’s well within the “legacy of jump”. It being handled like this is also totally why no-one picked it up, mind.

That sort of stuff makes me assume the authors are literal psychopaths...

The times, they be a changing.

Eh, I feel that overly random kind of humor used by traditional gag manga is really somewhat irrelevant in the YouTube generation. Kids don't need to pay for that sort of stuff anymore.

Also, this may sound ridiculous, but I don't think I could laugh at Japan even if I got the jokes because, if I had to describe it, it felt...nationalistic, to be blunt.

Less nationalistic and more celebratory to my mind. Like there’s a lot of gross nationalist comics out there, but this stayed juuuust about safe to me.

And I don’t think the youtube things pans out. Kids TV is still popular, after all, which is mostly gag stuff itself.

Yeah, but kids don't have to read watching TV. Reading takes extra brainpower, and, again, money.

I want to believe that you didn't coloured Gon and Killua because they aren't in HxH anymore :^)

Reading takes extra brainpower feels like an odd take. Is that true? Like the brain is less passive I’m sure but I can’t imagine it being significantly more taxing

Isobee, Jaguar and Chinyuuki come to mind

there is nothing bad with being proud of your culture, if they went on and said their culture is superior to others then I would agree with you

they were already greyed out when i found the image, i found it too hilarious to fix them

In news that will surprise no one, the release of Gintama’s final chapter has been delayed again. June 20 is the new release date.

If Zumou's entering the climax, I feel like it's very possible that it'll end this year (there's only 3 fights to go after all plus in-between stuff and wrap up), and then maybe it'll be the Winter GIGA series with a 3 chapter epilogue in there.

It's definitely the sort of series I can picture having an extended epilogue, it'd feel wrong for it to end without showing Hinomaru becoming Yokozuna which can't just be done in a quick 1 or 2 weekly chapter epilogue. It'd need a good 2 monthly-length chapters for the full build up and fight I feel plus a chapter for the epilogue's epilogue.

Yeah reading is way more taxing. Unless you're watching with subtitles which is basically the worst of both worlds. :kkthumbs

Jimoto anime is not terrible lol

Easily, that roster had so many great titles. Almost everything there made it to the best part of 5 years, excluding Assass Class, Isobe and the 4 fodder (Though WT is a special case I suppose), with a considerable amount making it to 6 too. So many classics. Crazy when we currently only have 3 (4) series over 5 years at the moment.

Shit maybe I’m just way too used to reading/reading comics, I’ve always found it way easier to do than watching a show haha
