Random thought: the Shonen Jump title that needs a reboot the most for me is Dragon Quest Dai no Daiboken
-In top-20 of most sold Jump titles
-37 volumes
-Pure adventures title, which would perfectly fit in current age
-First anime only aired for some reason the 4 first manga volumes
speaking of modernizing Dai no Daiboken
Enji Tetta (Daigo Tokusou mangaka) drew this for me 2 years ago after i requested it on odaibako

figure this a good time to post it as any
again, thank you sensei

To shift gears a bit, a question for everyone:

Who is your all-time favorite Jump protagonist? Who is your all-time favorite Jump antagonist?
Protagonist: toss-up between Sena Kobayakawa and Yoh Asakura (though really there’s a million choices here)

Antagonist: Dakki. The absolute GOAT.

Who is your all-time favorite Jump protagonist? Who is your all-time favorite Jump antagonist?
Protagonist: Luffy
Antagonist: pain

Pains speech to naruto is so true, the world is so grey.. everyone protect for their own freedom, which I find interesting

Kumagawa is also the best antagonist

Oooh, I like that Sena mention - he is not my favorite, not even in his own manga, but I always found him to be pretty underrated.

Protagonist: Osamu Mikumo (WorldTrigger)

Antagonist: Shigaraki (HeroAca), I guess. Both Gentle and Stain are more interesting, but they're only arc-villains.
Imo,WSJ isn't really the place for great main antagonists, tbh, unless you count someone like L... Memorable yes, but there aren't many that I would call interesting.

Joker
Protagonists: Sakuragi, Yusuke.
Leorio and Akito Takagi (Bakuman) even if they are not the main protagonists.
Antagonists : Meruem, Chrollo.
Then I want to mention Deidara (naruto) as villain.

WSJ has many great antagonists such as : Meruem, Pain, Niizuma Eiji (?), Also Frieza he might not be the best written character but still he is a classic villain

Niizuma Eiji (?)
Yeah, hm, I love Eiji, but I don't think he can be called the "antagonist", since he pretty firmly starts and stays in the "friendly rival" category. Probably the biggest clear antagonist of the series was Tooru Nanamine, but only for like his two arcs, other than that, Bakuman mostly does without a human antagonist.

Pop from Dai no Daibouken. Easily the best character growth for a deutragonist. I loved how much he developed through the series, facing off dragon squad alone and even playing around with demon king in the last arc

I think he qualifies as antagonist by definition. Not all antagonists are villains or try to stop protagonists actions. They could be just people who don't support the protagonists, but rivalize with them and help their arcs to move forward. Sports manga are full of this.

That said I thought: Is Nanamine an antagonist or he is just a villain? I don't remind him helping Ashirogi Muto arc moving anywhere. But I should do a reread to state this with some proof.
