It'll most likely sell, but not as amazing as many likely expect. Even a series with hype right out of the gate like TPN only sold 49K on Vol 1.

And scale it down even further for a Jump+ title. Series like Jigo/WEH are exceptions & the top sellers for Jump+.

Update on the voting chart. Saiyuki and Yui are surprisingly at the top of the pack, while TSS seems to have firmly lost interest. Expect an axing for it in the near future.

I saw that TPN is not popular on twitter and the pre-rank of Beast Children and double taisei were on the botton, I honestly do not know if I can trust twitter voting.
More if Kamio yui and The last saiyuki survived to the detriment of the 3 new manga would not see problem.

Jokes aside (but go read Jigokuraku), people need to relax with how crazy they're going over SxF. The volume isnt even out and for all you know it could do poorly in sales.

Been wanting to go back to Jigoraku, but I seem to remember the scans stopped at a certain point before mangaplus picked it up, but that meant mangaplus didn't have the untranslated chapters at the time.

I read the manga a while back, and to be honest it didn't really stick with me, everything seemed so melodramatic and I had a hard time getting invested with the characters or story. I can see how it was a huge influence on battle shonen going forward, but I don't think it aged well.

Who, me? I'd rather compare myself to Stephen A. Smith.

I personally think Yui Kamio was always planned as a surprise spin-off of Nura and a fantasy horror battle manga, but the mangaka wasn't planning on revealing his cards this early and was forced to do so to try to save the manga. I remember reading that something similar happened with World Trigger.

Beast Children is becoming my favorite of this batch.
It's very good.
Samurai 8 is also one of my favorites.
I'm enjoying Double Taisei too, but it looks like the manga is more likely to flop, a shame.

Area Expansion's in Jujutsu Kaisen are hype every time they happen, and since they're environmental rather than physical they don't feel nearly as contrived as power-up's.

I mean...the shift is interesting but is really kinda head-tilting. At the very least, Shiibashi should've included more hints towards the genre shift, rather than wasting time on gag chapters which made readers disinterested by the time the switch actually happened.

Plot twist, random twitter polls have ZERO relevance and impact in the toc, positions, and overall reception by the readers in Japan.

As something fun to discuss? no problem, but you're already started to make statements about how "manga readers are losing interest in Tokyo Shinobi Squad, probably will be cancelled soon".

Beast children - look, 6 chapters have already passed and so far the only characters I know the name are yukito and Sakura, and none of the other members of the team. It was already known to us the name of at least 3 members of the team and nothing yet.
Double taisei - I liked it but have a good chance of canceling after this pre rank.
Samurai 8 - I'm enjoying these recent chapters, but I have a lot of mistrust, honestly it was not the best premiere of the year.
TSS - It's the best of the four, even though many here do not like it.

Of the four only samurai 8 will last, and if this happens it will take that this manga will serve as a cushion for saiyuki (mainly) and kamio.

Hey @Buranchi it wouldn't be nice to make some polls in the thread every monday to the users vote where they think X manga will be positioned in the first ranking? something like:

How you think will be the first rank for Futari no Taisei;

1-Top 5
2-Middle
3-Bottom 5

When the toc is out, lock the poll and when issue #32 gets released in japan, change the poll for one about Beast Children first ranking. It was something that i thought because i do these in my twitter and many people vote so could be nice here, but if the users don't like its ok.

I didn't roasted Rain Spectre for bringing a twitter poll, i was talking about taking a jap twitter poll seriously as if it's have a real impact in the rankings and even saying something like "TSS is low, japan is losing interest, so it will probably be cancelled"

What i propose to Buranchi is just a funny thing for the members, to vote where they think Futari no Taisei will be ranked in the next issue.

You realize that's all my speculations, right? I'm doing what any researcher does, draw conclusions from extrapolated data.

I will note, the possibility of Saiyuki and Yui getting a pass because of Taisei, Beast and TSS bombing is...deeply amusing, to me at least.
