How can you calculate the numbers from shoseki ? For example, the sales of Blue Period #5.

Numbers I have for it:
Blue Period v5 - 15,880 / 32,379

As for how i calculated it, quoting an earlier discussion:

Aside from bookrank, all the other people that have been posting estimates in here are using same crude way. I know because i was comparing my numbers with theirs all the time. As for what that way is i have trouble explaining it with my english. I realized that i don't know the english names for even basic math terms. A basic search in internet didn't help me at all, so i am gonna explain it with a example.

If 100th place is 10,000 and 200th place is 5,000; estimates for 150th place is 7,500, 175th place is 6250,.. etc. How should i express this method in english? Using a linear scale to make estimation, is the best guess i have for now.

basically you are using (from the few lines you wrote) interpolation based on a straight line between 2 points.(tldr: linear interpolation) which is understandable since it is the simplest way to do it.

Book-rank does use a different, techinally more reliable formula to make estimates. Just when a series doesn't make the shoseki weekly list they're coming up with numbers basically from nothing. Well I am sure they've come up with some equation to calculate them, but i don't really care.
If you ignore that numbers, and wait until they update (it take them a few weeks to update), you can use their numbers. That being said you can't tell whether or not a series did make the shoseki weekly list just by looking at their site, so you need to manually check it. Or you could just use their numbers as it is, even if it's a guess, it's probably isn't more unreliable than numbers i provided.

Wait, so the Diner manga was an adaptation of a novel? I never realized that. Maybe that's why they decided to transfer it out despite it not doing too horrendously yet still give it a live-action series.

With Gotoubun and We Never Learn both receiving second seasons, I'd be surprised if Kaguya doesn't get one as well. The first season was able to move a pretty nice number of backlog volumes, so hopefully they'll give it another season, especially since it's one of their only current series that's selling really excellently.

Hell yeah! It is even obvious by Oricon that anime helped the manga grow a lot.
