Ground Rules for the Power Level Discussion Thread

As always, please follow the guidelines set by the Forum Rules that apply across the board.

It's important that discussions from a current chapter are spoiler tagged until 24h have passed from an english release.

• For the sake of constructive discussion, where and when possible please quote/ source any information you provide. Particularly when it comes to conversations carried over from other threads.
• Avoid passive agressive posts, sly remarks or baiting/trolling. You can certainly have fun or disagree without it being at someone's expense.
• Only use anime examples that are canon and as means to provide clarity to pages in the manga. Any other anime material is otherwise non-canon and should only be referenced if it can be proved that the mangaka had approved it.
• We will strive to avoid repetitive discussions and any extensive battle topics will be guided to the Davy Back fight to existing threads or new ones can be made there.

As of now these topics are shelved due to repetitiveness or until the manga can present us with material to further discussions:

1. Shanks v Mihawk
2. Hand to hand fighters > Swordsmen
3. Zoro > Luffy
4. Zoro v Sanji
5. Is Smoker a top 30 character?
6. Mihawk's rank within the story
7. Law having CoC currently.
8. Katakuri > Kaido/Luffy/Etc.

If you wish to continue any of these discussion and remove it from the list, you will need to provide manga material as proof. If there's also anything you think we've covered numerous times, let me know and I'll update the list.

This is the only warning there'll be regarding these ground rules, anything no adhering will be removed. So please just check your posts before posting them.

Aren't you in the Power level discussion thread where we all share our opinions on the strenght of the characters? Why complain about this?

The tier list would be a concrete way to show evolution and provide wood to the fire of the debate I don't get the problem you have with it.

You can share opinion. Never said it wasn't allowed nor am I complaining on it, but expect opinion of someone else especially it's true we don't know what's goes into Oda's mind when he compare in power lvl and we just speculating end of the day.

Nah, he isn't the reason, other characters are. Though do see him looking at his performance so for in 'A' areas.

Just issues on some characters in higher positions while they got defeated or bad showing with those that were put in lower positions than them.

Both are in there, but so far in his fight with Drake I don't see RS as a 'power-up', still disguise as Sanji and Oda never urge it was something he lacks power. He still capable fighter without it. So probably see it side by side thing in the 'A' areas.

In any case, too much work to post these things, but the top tier level would go to the Yonkou, Akainu, and possibly Garp and Dragon.

These lists will never work cuz they have too much bias in them. And can never account for the complexity of the story. That's why each and every time they spark so much confusion as to why one character isn't above the other or vice versa.

Um... isn't that obvious though? just seems like you two are reacting because you don't like their opinions because the replies are pretty redundant. We all know they're opinions, and that they're nowhere near fact, and yet you felt the need to point that out.

We don't have any evidence for most fighters anyway. We thought Crocodile was probably inferior to Luffy, but now we learned that he's actually better than what he showed, given he was standing at the end of the Paramount War.

Guys, the very point of this thread is to discuss power levels...
It goes without saying that all these rankings are subjective, as objective as we try to be, no need to point it out, everyone is aware of it.
It is not easy to discuss power levels or come to an understanding when it comes to them but it's the purpose of the thread.
Post your rankings so we can do exactly that - discuss.
