It's so silly to air Dr. Stone in a late night timeslot in a seasonal format.
It needs to be a long runner with filler to cater on its potential with younger children. An educational action show based on a Weekly Shonen Jump manga is insane not to air in a morning slot.
It's Bill Nye with a battle shonen skin. I don't get why everyone is so focused on pretending the series is so clearly something its not.
Cuz if you actually read the manga, it's more into it than science

Kinda sad for Arata Primal. I didn't like it in the beginning, but I'm enjoying this journey they're focusing now.

It would be cool if the editors gave Horikoshi permission to do a Shigaraki cover for the next issue, since Deku isn't in the spotlight right now.

Dead soon enough, sadly.
Is Slime Life still ongoing, or did it finally conclude with this double volume release? As for TSS, I think it has the best chance out of the 3 new series to survive a bit, but I think it'll probably have a first chapter ranking almost smack dab in the middle, but then drop until it's bottom 3-5 material.

No, I feel it's those who haven't read or simply skim through the manga that see it as some plot driven epic.
There's really not much more to it then a kids educational show with a neat aesthetic gimmick + a very loose plot to make kids feel like they're watching something cooler than they really are ala Carmen Sandiego.

I disagree. I agree that it DOES appeal to kids more than a lot of other Jump series.
But it by no means comes off as an education PBS type series.
It has a draw to youngner audiences, but it’s no where near being a Pokemon/Digimon/Yokai Watch type kids series.

Really? I see it as no more intense than Pokemon or Digimon (which can really get pretty dark for a young kids show) only actually vaguely educational.

I view it as being in the same level as Hannah Barbara cartoons(more modern ones like Powerpuff Girls, or Dexter’s Lab).

It clearly seeks a kids audiences, but it’s not so “Kidified” that adults and other ages can’t enjoy it. Has some jokes and aspects that are clearly aimed for adults(In the case of Powerpuff Girls and Dexter, Dexter has had jokes about prostitution and sex in it, wow Powerpuff Girls can get pretty violent, and in some instances doesn’t shy away from blood in their fights. In Dr.Stones case, the revealing clothing of the woman, and some jokes).

Dr.Stone has the educational science stuff mixed into most chapters, but I never felt like it overwhelmed the series to a degree where I would define it as being an educational. For sure, I doubt anyone who enjoys the series(whether kid or adult) reads the series every week for its education lessons. They probably come for the comedy and actual story progression. The educational stuff is a nice addition though.

So, guys, do you see Tokyo Shinobi Squad surviving or is it also on a one-way trip to the slaughterhouse like the rest of the none-Samurai 8 newcomers?
Can you explain why you think > Every < new manga wont survive?. I get it with beast and taisei but TSS has the highest possible to survive, people still talk and seem interested in it with cosplays & doing decent in TOC. Can you just chill saying "×-manga get axed blabkabla" atleast say something positive just once

Btw let's stop talking so much about S8, everytime I see the same lines from people about this manga

But kids don't watch educational shows with the intent of learning, they don't often overwhelm the kid with things like that because they would find it boring. Their parents let them watch it because they want to believe they're helping their kids learn while they neglect them, not because they actually want to watch an educational show. That's why things like Carmen Sandiego or Captain Planet exist. They think they're watching X-Men; their parents think they're watching Reading Rainbow.
Kids are also mostly watching for the comedy, light adventures, and the very rare times the story progresses (which would make it a good series for filler) due to much of it being short little arcs where they discover a new way to recreate something from the old world and that hasn't changed even now. All these setting changes and occasional plot updates are no different than us thinking we're somewhat closer to finding out where Carmen San Diego is.
It's just an illusion.

I understand that, but even then Dr.Stone doesn’t give off a Captain Planet vibe either. The education expects are often little Clip notes in a side panel, just to let readers know “hey, we know this is a manga, but this is actual science here. You can really do this stuff”. But it doesn’t seem to the main intent of the creators to educate kids or readers.

Other than that, I don’t really see how it’s comedy is much different than any other comedy running in Jump. And i would say it being more Kid friendly than other series such a Black Clover, One Piece, and MHA, has more to do with its lack of blood, death, and violence.

I just view it being a kids series as a bit of an exaggeration. Dr.Stone has way too many sexualized female characters, inappropriate gag humor, and jokes that kids probably wouldn’t even get, for me to put it in the same category as series like Pokemon, Digimon and Captain Planet.
I’d say it would belong on the Toonami Block with MHA, Dragon Ball, and Naruto more than it belong on Disney XD with Pokemon and Beyblade.

Don’t get me wrong. I think it does appeal to kids. But in the same way as a daytime Cartoon Network, or Nickelodeon appeals to kids. I don’t think it’s in a PBS type category that ppl are putting into

Well, there are kids series in Japan with sexualized female characters. It can be a thing for another demographic.

In addition, there are kids who want to believe themselves older than they are.

That said, I hadn't read Dr. Stone, so I don't exactly know where this should fit. However, I should say (based only in the appearance) that it doesn't look like a kids show.

We don't really know for sure, but generally rankings are more important unless it's a massive seller. sub-10k sellers have been allowed to last for a while, while 20k+ sellers have been cancelled quickly in the past.

Genre's pretty important too, a gag manga will generally get a forgiveness than a battle shounen. WSJ likes to have a mix of genres and keep series for longer if they find it interesting, even if it means letting better selling but less distinct stuff die.

Keep in mind though that they can just pretend something is popular, while ToC does seem to reflect popularity for the most part but the editors could easily just place an unpopular series high up as a push if they think it should be more popular.

It's an overall study of the series performance, there's no way it can be summarized in just one variable.

The boring answer is that editorial at Weekly Shonen Jump has a regular meeting where they look at what’s underperforming and decide whether to continue publishing it. They look at several factors, but the short of it is “is it doing well”.
