I know this is really kind of messed up in a way, but a part of me is always happy to see a new series dying out of the belief it'll extend Yuuna a little more.

No, not really. A series' success will almost always rely on the quality of the series itself, of which Samurai 8 has just fine. One low placement after several very high ones means little to nothing.

That would make me very happy, but I feel like it has kind of already blown its load the last few chapters in preparation for cancellation. If it does somehow survive, it won't have all these big plot reveals that he likely intended to use much later, so it would be difficult to turn it around and get it back on track to continue.

No. It's too premature to speculate. We don't even know if the ToC is legit, furthermore, we haven't even seen volume sales yet.

I've never liked Samurai 8 even during the "big" fight it's been leading up to so I guess it's just not for me.

There's definitely no way Saiyuki is turning around at this point. With sales that low and the plot revelations from the past few chapters, it is most certainly in endgame mode. I wonder if it's going to pull an Invade You, where for some reason, the second to last chapter was significantly higher than the rest of the series' TOC placements up until that point.

I hope the next batch has Shuuichi Asou, Kenta Shinohara or Kyousuke Usuta.

What on earth is even going on with this long stretch of no new series? Having one gap in the magazine for extra oneshots is fair enough, they do that every winter, but we're missing two series now. What's taking them so long to start the next batch?

Maybe they really don't want anything to potentially overshadow Samurai 8? It is the big Kishimoto return that kicked off the new era after all, and didn't exactly have the strongest start.

Next time you post a ToC, please wrap it in a spoiler tag. I asked this previously, but I'm asking again. I get the urgency of wanting to post it first, but it saves me the effort of having to manually edit ToC posts.

Does anyone know when we'll get the next batch of series? Clearly it isn't happening in issue 38, so does anyone have any guess as to when we can expect some more information?
