You guys are sooo underestimating the big boost that Yaiba is having, it's actually funny, don't act scared when the manga appears in the top 3 of best selling series of 2019, with 20 volumes selling between 200k and 300k Slam Dunk was able to get 3rd last year, now you have a series that will have like 17 volumes selling over 400k or even 500k until November and maaaybe will get in the top 5? Kkkkkk

Different, really? I thought those were all commonly liked series.
Other manga that would make A-rank or above are Inuyasha, Detective Conan, Blue Exorcist and No. 6.

I tried Kimetsu no Yaiba, but the first chapter was just so very predictable. You are telling us how much you love your family but you're spending the night away from them? Yeah, they're dead. Apart from one, probably, which you will then have to save. Oh look, what a surprise.

And the first three chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen just felt really generic. Like, it's not bad or anything, but it feels like something I've read several times before. Does this change in later chapters?

Why I said "differently" is cuz if you like bleach, i would kinda expect you would like something like jujutsu kaisen & kimetsu. I can tell you already, both arent generic at all. Kimetsu gets really original after the spider arc (50 ch+) and you gonna predict almost nothing cuz oh God it's so incredible unpredictable and make u sweat. Also it has that "horror" dark ecstatic and premise, it's something u didnt see much in jump when it got published. Jujutsu kaisen, is really an upside down bleach and the characters are really something you get joy of it. Both series face tactical battle which its hot right now (thank you hxh). Its diffently not generic, u dropped it too soon ;(

So, anyone here have a view on the, uh, "edgy" era of Jump as it were?
shows that fans love breaking ''morality''', cuz thats what jump standed for an long time.

now its an era for *there was no option, its only for the greater good*. it shows more an indivudual mindset than something everyone normals stands for. so that alone make this era alot more unique and new for story telling. if you get what i mean

extacly what supercow said, there always has to be a comedic relief, its still an shonen magazine after all ;)

I don't understand why we would be underestimating it, it's a very normal boost due to the anime, what else?

Very similar to that of Neverland, but Neverland unlike Kimetsu already sold a lot.

I think it will now stabilize on these numbers, maybe it will enter the top 10, but third place next to monsters like One Piece? We are not kidding.

I usually count Rokudenashi as a series adapted to anime since it has 2 movies; and considering this I have the following list with series with more than 150 chapters and without adaptation of some kind:

1. Toilet Hakase: 318 ch (30 volumes)
2. Manga Drifters: 268 ch
3. Mr. Fullswing: 227 ch (24 volumes)
4. Akutare Kyojin: 204 ch (22 volumes)
5. Toudai Icchokusen: 168 ch. (13 volumes)
6. Arashi! San-piki: 163 ch (14 volumes)
7. Susume!! Pirates: 151 ch (11 volumes)

Quite curious that of the 7; 6 are from the "non-anime" era or from the 70s (he prayed that at some point Fullswing be adapted)

Nah Madhouse ruined HxH 2011. Coloring, pacing, tone. At least some single episodes are the best I've seen but the majority of it is so bad compared to the manga or 1999. And Madhouse is going down the drain too.
There are definitely some questionable choices, but ruined? Come on now.

And although the end of Overlord S3 still gives me nightmares, I’ve heard great things about Sora yori and No Guns Life looks promising.

Its a bigger boost than Neverland.

It will be in the top 3 easily.

The 70s non anime era has done more harm that good. Titles like Doberman Deka, Circuit no Okami or Astro Kyudan are pretty obscure in 2019. Well, Otoko Ippiki or Isamu have anime and are also obscure.

Just wondering how did Play Ball escape that non-anime fate and get that anime in 2005. Still, the title is still pretty obscure.

I dont see Kimetsu getting top 3, it definitely will be in the top 5, I see the top 10 going like this

3. The Promised Neverland
4. Kimetsu no Yaiba
5. 5-toubun
6. My Hero Academia
7. Haikyu!!
8. Attack on Titan
9. Slime
10. One Punch Man

Kkkkkk very normal boost? Wtf?! The manga got from selling 150k in the top 50 to crossing 400k and isn't showing any sign of slowing down and all the volumes are now going for the 500k club and it still at least one more volume to be released until November and you say that "maybe it will enter the top 10"?

I talked about underestimating but you're comment sound almost like baiting.

God, I wish Ufotable, Bones and Madhouse did every WSJ adaptation.

:(
Like I always say, Madhouse is more of the staff than anything. You want the Madhouse of Overlord and their winter anime of this or their best ones? Because those are very different and depends on the staff, not on the studio.
