Hope this is a success for the Poro author.

I’m probably in the minority, but for me Poro had an awesome art style, great since of character design, and I honestly didn’t think it was badly written. Poro was one of the ones I was hoping would pull through in that 6 New Series round that time.

This time the mangaka has carried over the great character designs, and what looks to be an interesting cast. If I were picking up this issue of Jump I’d read the first chapter based on the cover alone. Hopefully the story is executed well.
One thing I can imagine giving this series a push is shippings and fanart(though Poro got a lot of fanart too).

Literally judging a book by its cover.

Anyways, seems like Yui has a good chance of being the next year-and-a-half manga. I like reading those, I probably said it before but to me they're like an insight into what early flops could've been if they'd been luckier with timing, or sometimes they can show you what a hit that couldn't keep the momentum is like. So far Yui seems more like the lucky flop type.

If Yui manage to survive another round I'll be sure editors are crazy. The thing is far far below the "jump quality" they are always so proud. Plot is all over the place.

I like the visuals of the new series, but I'm not sure if I like the way editors are trying emulate SxF in the main magazine. Japanese readers may get picky because of this too.

Up to next issue Yui kamio will be at chapter 24 and never receive any color page(Except chapter1 and2)
Which is not a good sign

SxF owes a lot of the popularity to the family comedy with a kid element in Anya/Ania, so I am not sure this is trying to emulate that.

As someone said before. I’m almost sure the creator of the new series was probably working on it and and developing it months before SXF was known to be a huge hit. While it was somewhat popular in the beginning, I’m sure editors didn’t KNOW they had a huge hit on their hands until the volume release in July.

This series was probably planned to join the magazine months ago

As stated, Yui Kamio is a "lucky flop".

Yui Kamio's current position in TOC is not really because this has risen, but everything else has fallen below.

That said, Yui Kamio still has opportunity to survive for a time. After all, it has a decent amount of cushion (I'm not including Samurai 8 or Yuna). Not to mention that the magazine doesn't want to be so empty.

It ranked above Yuuna this issue so it's not entirely a lucky flop any more, it's popular enough to do better than an established series (granted it's the least popular established series but still). As long as TSS, Beast Children, and Double Taisei continue to do worse there's no need to get rid of it yet.

Being the most popular flop still means it has some popularity, and it's not like they desperately need to open more space. Remember there's still an extra open spot right now, so even if there's another batch of 4 after the GFC (which is unlikely) it'd still be safe. At this point it's a fair bet it'll go into 2020 unless there's somehow 6+ more new series after this batch.

Mission of Yozakura family.

Yozakura, if you remove the "ra" and change the rest of the letters is Yakuza. That is, it could be a mafia manga with romance.

Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, Seinen from Big Gangan.

It just appeared on the Big Gangan cover for the August issue

Ah, I see.

Speaking of awards, does CSM and SxF both qualify for the Manga Taisho award?

Just kidding, it most likely is not gay. And even if it looks pretty darn good and if it got first place it means it must be quite good as well to earn such a high rank. Gotta check if there are translations out of it, maybe give it a read later.^^

I can accept Kusuriya over Chainsawman, it's hard to place what but there's something I really love about that series.
