With the amount of times that James mentioned and tagged and also with how he votekilled Gry makes me think they are together but not mafia. Because you tend to avoid too much connection with your mafia group. But as a mason, that stigma wouldn’t be there as much. Also if he thought Gry was mafia mason then would be a good vote one day 1.

Votekill GrySun before I forget. Gotta say it will be pretty hardcore if the one time you're starting Mason you actually ask to get lynched immediately, as you said you would do if it ever happened.

The reasoning being that if Gry flips "town", James is pretty much cleared since Gry would flip "mafia" if we were mafia, Mafia Mason or Traitor (not sure how the mishap would have happened in this case, but you never know) and "third party" if he were Mentor, starting Mentee or Lover.

So worst-case scenario we lose a Mason we couldn't trust without a (non-meme) Det investigating him, whereas by lynching James we could lose a Recruiter who could still be useful.

Well, I'll go with votekill James

It's the end of D1 and any other lynch at this point would be pretty much random and likely lead to the death of a townie anyway ('cause odds). James screwed up and now we could have a scenario where they're both scums (TP or Mafia) and Gry tried to protect him, or 2 masons where James is a Recruiter. With the possibility that we have at least one other Recruiter in game (Grace) and adding that not knowing the setup up will make it harder for the mafia to kill her in this early stage ('cause there could be protectors, BKs and wtv else out there, it can be costy to go for someone under the spotlights and miss the kill... been there), I'd rather risk the suspicious Recruiter with the chance of killing a more valuable scum.

Plus, we can't know if that will give us any answer right away, we don't know what either would flip, since we know nothing about this color system. Killing anyone else would lead to the same thing so I'll go for what seem to be fairly disposable and already doomed at some point (in case it's town) but that could lead to a better reward (potential better scum role in case it's non town).

There shouldn't be any scenario where he would be covering for a mafia or TP but flip town as far as I know, even Lovers would flip TP since Lambu doesn't make them win as town or mafia anymore.

But if we lynch James instead and he flips townie (meaning Recruiter), that doesn't tell us anything about Gry being townie Mason or Mafia Mason. So Gry should come first if you wanted to be sure we're minimizing potential townie lynches, no?

He can flip any colour he wants, we still get to know their allegiance (so town, mafia or TP) when someone gets lynched:

1. All players are assigned to a specific color. The color represents their role; from an allegiance to nature or type.
2. Upon death, their allegiance and role are hidden within their color.
3. The only exception to Rule Two is through a Lynch, in which only the role will be hidden.​

GrySun makes the most logical choice to kill since that the lesser role + the more suspicious role but it feels wrong to lynch him because James incriminated him by accident. And Pom has to deal with salty Gry on her birthday. Makes me want to lynch James more. However, if James is Recruiter. It’s best to leave both known recruiters in the game for a bit longer. Reminds me of being double prostituite with Organ. But one has to die to know what they are. Because whatever color/allegiance they are, the other is the same.

I'm saying that logic would apply in any game but not in this one cause the lynching will show the allegiance, not the role. So if Gry doesn't flip town, we don't know about James cause he could still be a Recruiter while Gry could be a Mafia Mason. So we'd kill James as well? It's the opposite: if James shows as town, so is Gry.

They probably are a Mason Team and James just goofed. Despite the screenshot posted, don't think there was much pressure on them, Gry kind of tipped things over by just revealing, which probably wasn't necessary, though does fall in line with what he did when he was BP 2 games back. Honestly could've waited for James and James could've used the "avatars next to each other excuse" and done. But maybe thought it would lead to a mass lynch on the recruiter(assuming they are legit) so best to reveal? Guess the Mafia Mason koolaid is stronk.

Don't think they are a starting Mentor/Mentee duo because doesn't that defeat the purpose of the role? Never been done before either, since I saw some comments asking about that.

Not sure James would become a Mafia target right away either just by surviving like some claim, he could just as likely get himself killed recruiting wrongly and Mafia can target elsewhere and he saves them the trouble.

Anyway, lynch will give color and allegiance, night kills will give out more colors, and maybe we can find some pattern there. Like warm/cool color patterns and the like.
