I will continue to reiterate until the end, until the sales are seen Samurai is safe.

They sold the series to half the world, it is unlikely that the axed immediately.

At most it will be decided whether it will be a long or a short series, that both Kishimoto seems ready for both eventualities.

That is obvious. Samurai 8 will at least last over 1 year like RxL did. But whether it would live or not was never in question and was never even mentioned here.

I'm pretty sure that's what I did, twice, but here we are, arguing about it again.

I'm being extremely lenient currently, and humoring people by honestly answering, but this is something I recently asked people to stop doing twice so far. I like Jovan, that's why I answered him despite his comments going against what I asked earlier for people not to do.

And this is exactly why. We're all just speculating, and none of it truly matters until we see the volume sales.

Thanks! Same goes for you. I also think the S8 discussion should die down because it's going nowhere at this point.

P.S I had no idea S8 talk was banned. I knew "whether it is good or bad" thing was but not the whole thing.

Well, Act-Age could be better, but I'm not that worried since it seems a pattern Act-Age going up and down every time, there is really some chapters where it is more development, conversation, etc. and other that are masterpieces to behold. I'm reading the volumes in Japanese and I'm two volumes behind so I have no idea what may have caused this, gotta read the remaining chapters once I catch up with the volumes.

There is no way not to comment Samurai 8 position, either this is an incredible downfall or they want to make it the fixed bottom series. lol
I don't remember any particular case right now, but Jump was considerably more permissive with veterans, not to mention one of Kishimoto stature, maybe it is the "new" (2017 is not new anymore) editor in chief? Like stop clinging to veterans series pushing it until the dead end and showing more reality? XD

I don't know, Horikoshi could do a better job showing Uraraka beauty, I think I've seen better smiles from her.
No Lead CP so far, right? I hope she is there and with a better expression. It was decades of only villains and Toga had so little spotlight putting all the arc together, I WANT TO SEE URARAKA AND THE GIRLS! XD

Jump Romcom fest? Neat. Though I question why Komi isn't involved.

I hope it is because he is concentrating on a new series because the time is up for him to return and bring all the merchandise to Nisekoi back for me to buy. Besides the new series, of course. XD

Moving on, what do you guys expect for Mitama and Yozakura in terms of popularity/lasting potential?

Mitama is dead. Dead, dead, dead demons dedededede destruction.

Yozakura has a decent chance, I think. I can tell from going around imageboards and JP twitter it seems to have good reception, and with the strong pace the first three chapters it could easily build enough momentum to where it can evade the Jump Axe.

Like I get the mangaka is a veteran, and that HxH is really big in Japan, but I never liked the way Togashi takes these breaks instead of trying to wrap up the manga and then go for the long break. It feels like it's Hunter is a secondary thing for him now. He isn't sick, right?

Saw it, thanks and sorry! Though I think the sales for Samurai 8 will be another Pandora's Box here (even if it does well, people can use the "doesn't live up to Naruto" card) , so I am kinda scared.

Criticize Togashi about his infinite hiatus is almost taboo here, they say that he is sick although I've never seen anything concrete on this regard. I stopped reading HxH ages ago.

If you want to say that you liked or disliked the current chapter, that's perfectly okay. The only thing I'm banning is the discussion surrounding whether or not it's underperforming based on it's ToC placements, or other such indicators that aren't volume sales specifically.

That only leads to arguments which, as you all saw, are highly incendiary.

All I know is that he's had back problems ever since he's done Yu Yu Hakusho. Dunno whether that's still the case or not but I'm guessing it is.

I agree with the post, though sales aren't indicative of popularity/lack of in the magazine (Spring Weapon No.1, Kurogane, Enigma, Magico at their beginning doing well or Straigthen Up, Hinomaru Zumou that were more established despite poor in the first/marginal sales in the second case). Cross Account Vol 1 appeared on Oricon yet it was gone shortly after.

think tabata want to make a contrast on ur typical hotheaded rivaly ( naruto vs sasuke, deku vs bakugou ect). so having a healty revialy, which make it more ''unique'', or a bit of refreshing

Yeah, we really don't know what this means, it is unprecedent for a author like Kishimoto to come back in the modern age, Toriyama came back some years ago, but he was really not taking it seriously. The only other one in this level is Oda. Maybe when Kubo or Sorachi come back, but they haven't yet. It is new for us.
Maybe the expectations were so high that it is actually going against the series in the magazine, anyway, it is a very interesting topic, I don't blame people for wishing to talk about it. If the guys from both sides didn't make it personal, it could be possible. =/

It's still the most meaningful metric, and you can't really argue (with a straight face) that it's underperforming if the volumes end up selling gangbusters.
