This is true, I think the romance between the two protagonists will be the driving force for the action, but not the main point. It is astonishing, to say the least, that people are already tagging it as romcom AND voting for it as their favorite romcom despite the series having 3 chapters, 3 chapters, guys! After that, I'm not taking this poll seriously.

After I learned Japanese to a level where I can read mangas comfortably (light novels is still a on going learning), I'm just buying it, it is so cheap. It has been years since I read a scan. However, my collection is mostly non-Jump series, there is no reason to read in Japanese things widely available in English. That's also one of the reasons that kept me out of there for so long, what I read people simply will not discuss here because nobody reads it. lol
That said, my collection of Jump series is:

1) Act-Age

End of the list.
We can talk about the rest of the collection in another thread if it you interested.
I voted for Mission because out of all the series listed, Mission and We Never Learn are the only series I’ve read(I’ve read some of I”s as a horny preteen though).

I like both, but leaned more toward mission, cause I’m typically not a fan of harems. So I like that the MC and his romantic interest are an actual couple. And I’m typically a Shonen Action fanboy, which is what Mission has as well

I feel like a lot of people haven't read Ichigo 100%. So let me make the case: The girls feel like real people (probaby because a women wrote the series), the characters have goals and dreams beyond just being with the Main character, the Manga doesn't just end after the MC gets into a relationship and sells you that as a happy ending (There are a lot of issues you have to deal with to mantain a relationship). Its just well written all around with enough drama to keep you interested in whats happening.
Yeah, it is kinda what I hope gonna happen in Kaguya as well. As that there is more to maintain a relationship than just love/lust each other. Far more. Ofc right now Shirogane and Kaguya are in their rose-tinted happy days phase where everything and especially the partner is perfect with the final confession but a relationship doesn't end with a confession, it starts with it. And most romcoms usually end with a confession = marriage and happy ever after. So I guess that's why I voted Ichigo 100% as well. Though I would also have voted for other as in Juliet because I liked how Romio managed to make Juliet fall for him and I just loved his sword clash confession and how he was so much more sensetive in the relationship than Juliet and how much both changed over the course of the story due each other and how it showed that their relationships doesn't only affect them but everyone else as well and they ofc their relationship as well as in either being a bother or danger to it or being helpful and supportive. It maybe wasn't the best romcom ever written but it surely was enjoyable to read and had a nice ending.^^

a new Jump manga from 2014-2015

it has one of the worst art ever

people were mocking it because it's about proper human anatomy while the artist have absolutely no idea how to draw proper human anatomy
1. Tip for guys wanting to be an artist

Always learn anatomy, it wont only help you learn the human body but it will always develop your art in something new. Otherwise you will be stuck in a loop forever

Yozakura is classified as romantic comedy, so if it works it will be good.
It's not really a romcom, like at all. It does have a romance element on it with the MC and heroine, but outside of it, it's not one. If we go by that, series like SAO would be a romcom since the characters are together since the first volume. Romcom is basically a focus on the romcom aspect be it leading to a relationship or the relationship itself happening with fluffy and all. Here it's clear that it isn't like that, even more because WSJ don't even use the term like they do every time when I romcom debuts be it on a synopsis or into the own manga.

And with a comment like this I pretty much show that I disagree with it being on the poll. XD

I think we can thank Kaguya-sama for that. Not WSJ, obviously, but to say it's been quite the major work in the genre would be accurate.
There was plenty of romcom manga without being harem before, during and after Kaguya even existed (not only straight, but yuri and BL), including on Shueisha's magazines. I don't buy that current enviorment argument because those always existed out there in all demographics. Hell, Shonen Magazine had plenty of them, going from romance, to love triangle, to harem and different types. lol Even in the current situation you have Gotoubun, Domestic na Kanojo and Kanojo Okarishimasu which are three different types (and Juliet, until the last month). lol

As a follow-up to the digital/print stuff, here’s my Jump Comics volumes from Bookwalker. I highly recommend supporting series this way, as coin rewards have kept the costs of this stuff surprisingly low. And it can’t be said enough, it supports the authors of stuff you like.

I’d love to see other users’ Jump collections, print/digital, English/Japanese, and such. I think it’s a good way to get a grip on each other’s tastes.

Unless this is too similar to stuff already done in collection threads, but we’ll cross that bridge after I click post.
On Bookwalker do you need to VPN to buy Japanese volumes? I use it for most the Kodansha stuff I buy (Viz doesn't seem to list stuff here) and have never seen a Japanese volume.

As for your question the only Jump stuff I've bought is Demon Slayer, Kaguya if you want to count that and Jojo. I don't have a ton of money so I like to buy stuff I can't legally support otherwise so most my collection is from Kodansha and Sunday published stuff.

There used to be a global measure preventing non-Japanese territories buying Sunday volumes, but that’s long-past. You can buy Bookwalker volumes off the Japanese site anywhere in the world (I think), and even use your Global account! Which also means coins carry across, an underrated feature.

To see Japanese volumes go to https://bookwalker.jp/ and for the english language stuff go to https://global.bookwalker.jp/

Like it’s not a perfect service, but definitely my recommended path to anyone wanting to buy legit stuff cheap

Some history there... I knew the site, but I never had the curiosity to go through all 58 pages of issues. Maybe I will do that now and see if there is something interesting to share.

Some hot ecchi for 1971. XP

They certainly didn't have many different styles back there, there are two series that look almost the same.

One thing that I saw in the issues from the 70~80s is that there were racing and aviation mangas. I wonder why don't do mangas with these themes anymore (at least since I can remember). It would be interesting, principally aviation, I love planes.

Some good drawings in this issue, for example:

Dr. Slump first issue, the announcement there in the corner.

Chapter 14 it took the cover. "Jump is jammed with gags"

Some issues after that it took the cover again. No offense to the drawing style until there, but Akira Toriyama catches the attention right away.

Gotta start Dr.Slump today.

Ok, that site is incredible, are all WSJ's issues on there for the TOC?
From the last years, I'm sure they have all. And you're right, that site is amazing, it aims to be a database for comics publication worldwide and not just manga

This is pretty incredible...
If i'm not mistaken, Osamu Akimoto never had any absence/hiatus in the 40 years of Kochikame, barely took a break after the end too already starting new series, the man is probably the healthiest person in Japan lol

Yeah, that's actually pretty awesome. It's impressive he doesn't seem to have any physical complication that we know of from drawing that much.
I mean looking at series from the past decade in the magazine we've had:
- Oda hurt his wrist from drawing
- Ashihara had something pretty bad and had to switch WT to monthly
- Horikoshi, most likely had some problems too otherwise, the page count per chapter would have stayed at 19 for MHA
- Togashi has some serious back problems

And I know I'm forgetting some.

He certainly takes care of himself, but I think after so much time doing the same series with the same style you probably acquire a level that you can draw a chapter very fast. Oda also had a long time without any problems before he had to take breaks, I didn't know he had hurt his wrist.
Certainly, Osamu Akimoto should open a consulting firm on how to have this longevity.

I looked for the magazine published around my birthday and it was this one in October 31st 1994, two days after I was born.
- Captain Tsubasa on the cover
- Dragon Ball, Slam Dunk and Jojo present
- Kochikame was already in its 899th chapter. XD
