Well, i like To Love Ru :')
Oh, yeah, I forgot that the detail. The best manga he has ever drawn then, no wonder the story was so good, he should pair up again with another author next time.Tadahiro only drew Koisome Momiji. The author was Tsugirou Sakamoto.
Shaman King has the kanzeban editions & the prequel/sequels which means it has a lot more # of volumes. It has 53 million copies in print and copies in print =/= copies sold. For example, Its like if you look at Kimetsu's copies in print of 10 million it comes out to 625k copies per volume and Kimetsu doesnt even sell that much.No way Shaman King ever outsold Yu Yu Hakusho
It's totally accurate.I don't know how accurate this is but I heard One Piece and Takeshi are publicly known to have gotten first place ranking on their first chapters based interviews. Yet, if you trace back thier ToC, they don't get "1st rank" on thier 8 week mark.
. I still remember you still have scar from the prervious batch (i think Bozebeat patch?), and refuse to read any series until you know it will survive lol.
I followed TPN from the beginning. You sure it wasn't a different series? I did say that, but I thought it was for a different series.I think it is consensus that everyone that read TPN on this forum on that day knew it would be a hit. All except @Buranchi. Ah, Bozebeats. Art was beyond good, shame everything else about it sucked.I followed TPN from the beginning. You sure it wasn't a different series? I did say that, but I thought it was for a different series.
I wasn't upset about Bozebeats. I think I was upset about Red Sprite.

I think that depends on both Ashiharas willingness for how far he intends to go for WT's story and how much Jump SQ is ready to give him time. Given that Ashihara worked like 2-3 years on the WT storyline before submitting his word to Jump and them accepting it and given that his neck injury is one of the kind that could and still might end his mangaka career, he might see WT as his final work so he might want to give his all into it no matter how many years it takes to properly tell a story. So far he hasn't speed up any of the Tournament Battles, they all still follow the same formula like when the series was still in Jump, so it doesn't look like he is racing against time. I could see him working more than 10 years on it if SQ lets him.So technically the series isn't part of WSJ anymore since the beginning of the year since it moves to Jump SQ but looking at the current progression and the world building introduced in early chapters, had it stayed in WSJ and assuming the series had kept a high popularity, I think World Trigger could have been a series to easily go for the 500-600 chapters or maybe even more meaning around 8-10 years of serialization left in the tank. Now that the series has moved to SQ the author is doing 2 chapters a month meaning the pace of the series will be much slower and for a monthly series, at the rate of 2 chapters a week, the max it could do would be around 8 years of serialization still.
So how do you think the switch to monthly format is going to impact World Trigger? Do you see it as a series that can last that long in SQ now? Do you think the series could have survived for 500-600 chapter in WSJ?
The editors know a lot of things, most of them wrong as you can see by the repeated blunders they think worth serializing. XDShuiesha knows it will be a big hit. 300,000 first print for a rookie AND it never left top 4 in the TOC since it debutted.
For me personally i know Food War and Assassination Classroom would be a hit when i read the first chapter back in 2012.

Honestly, that happens in pretty much all companies who publish comics and manga so it's just the reality of the industry. It's a gambling situation after all.The editors know a lot of things, most of them wrong as you can see by the repeated blunders they think worth serializing. XD
But I was talking about the readers, not Shueisha.
Shokugeki no Soma I realized it would be good when Nikumi was introduced, more precisely the page below. Proof is that I remember it even now. It was not because she is a girl with this body and, you know what I mean, it was because the character design is very good, it shows a force that was spectacular. Unfortunately she became a comic relief after that. =/

Assassination Classroom was a surprise for me, it was too out of the standard to make success I thought, although it was good, the same feeling I had with Act-Age for that matter.
I know, I was just answering him about Shueisha knowing it would be a success.Honestly, that happens in pretty much all companies who publish comics and manga so it's just the reality of the industry. It's a gambling situation after all.
Untrue:Anyway you probably read the ranking wrong as it doesn't tell us which series got CP/LCP/covers that issue which dont count for the ranking.
And which series had CP/LCP/covers during that issue?Untrue:

Takeshi is on the cover but its "ranked" as 5th on comicvinespot. It can be that comicvinespot didnt rank them according to the ToC
