No wonder I didn't know about this because I read things by volume, but it is great Shueisha effort on this. I will look for the series you mentioned because I think it is important to contribute to these efforts. Let's see what the Shonen Jump itself will do later because for the good or bad, the reach is much wider. I know that doing this kind of drawing like prosthetic and such is not in the book of many Jump authors and theirs mostly cartoon-ish styles and therefore it is not easy to do, Inoue does a fantastic job on that, but he is a master in his art and really put effort in what he does. We will see.Ooh this is for me!! Jump is doing plenty with the paralympics, from Young Jump’s WHO I AM (in association with the campaign of the same name by WOWOW), to Paralympic Jump, the magazine running to promote the event, with covers by Takehiko Inoue, photoshoots, interviews (some BY Takehiko Inoue), and several comic series, including a TOUGH spin-off, a biographical comic for Kamiji Yui, and Bravo Blind Soccer, a series by Yoichi Takahashi, creator of Captain Tsubasa!
If you want a good idea of what the magazine is like, I’ve covered all three issues out so far on twitter (half self-plug, half actual useful information, so it’s fine)
I’d love to see more things like this done with the paralympics, but Shueisha and WOWOW in particular are pushing the boat out on promoting the paralympics right now
Thank you for the complete post.
He is a master in his craft, no doubt about that.It must be said every now and then, Innoue truly is a gem in the manga industry.
ah shit, here we go again
