But even if it were, what trouble would you be sorry for?

Also forget that Stone is also made by two famous authors, so it seems obvious to me that he have more space than other titles.
Does that mean Samurai 8 has to have more space and promotion than other Jump titles because Kishimoto?

PD: You guys have the Chainsawman color pages at the end of page 913.

Yuuna changes editors according to an author comment this week. From Ikeda -> Fukuda (newbie in Ikeda's editor group)
Found an interesting site that had detailed info on the editorial department, updated to Oct 2nd. It's been a while since the previous current editor list was posted, so I TL'd and updated it with this week's info.

Wait, Monji's been there 11 years, and that's the extent of the series he's helped launch?

There's only gonna be so many hits, I guess. In which case, goddamn @ Katayama.

Wow, this is awesome, thanks for putting this together!

Some observations:

Monji Team is fascinating. It's been in charge of like all the axes with small cult followings. Noah's Notes, Red Sprite, Bozebeats, Last Saiyuki. Double Taisei likely about to join those ranks. The one non-HxH success in the team is Demon Slayer, and it looks like that editor took over around the time the pace of the story started rapidly increasing. It's like Monji Team is where you go to die, but at least you go out in style.

Iwasaki at Katayama team, Naito at Monji team, and Ikeda at Ikeda team currently aren't actively editing any manga. Maybe at least one of these editors will be in charge of a manga in the next batch.

Fukuda, a newcomer, suddenly getting Yuuna might mean that Yuuna is going to wrap up soon, and that editing its conclusion will be a way to settle Fukuda into the WSJ environment.

Man. This is cool info. I feel like I'm only half done picking it apart.

Dr Stone getting a actual spinoff serialization in the same magazine and from the same authors its what you can definitive call "being pushed", all the other mangas get their spinoffs in the other magazines but seems like Dr Stone is a special case for the editors

Edit: i dont see any problem, i like the idea but this is "editorial pushing" at its finest
I mean, it's probably in the same magazine *because* it's by the same authors. And the reason it's by the same authors is probably that they are simply the only ones willing/capable to do something like this.

That's a fantastic listing. I hope you don't mind but I picked it for me. XD

I guess that helping lauching the series means that the editor was the first one of such series so they helped in the beginning.

Why do you think that Fukuda is like that? There's something similar that happened before?

Also, surprised to see that Samurai 8 editor has just 4 years, I thought he was a newcomer since he had no other work listed on the manga plus interview. But even so, 2 works on 4 years is too few, even more when two of those comes from this year. O_o

Just speculation based on the fact that Yuuna has been hovering around its final arc for a little while now. My guess is that since Yuuna could be ending soon, Ikeda is passing it down to a newbie while he looks for a new ecchi / fanservice series that can launch to replace it and/or We Never Learn (which is also ramping up to its conclusion).

You're just doing comparisons without any context behind, Toriko having higher sales or a higher peak doesn't mean anything regarding Black Clover's future, Toriko ended after 8 years of serialization with the story had long reached its peak in quality and without any anime or any sort of promotion, and it still took a good time to get rushed.

So what this means for Black Clover? nothing, different manga, different expectations, different times, i really doubt that Shonen Jump editors decide things based in comparisons with how older mangas perfomed or who had the highest peak in sales, they care about current times and Black Clover is doing perfectly good at the moment, is a worldwide success in both anime and manga (which Toriko failed to be, getting limited to just Japan), so again, why would Black Clover be in any slightly danger?
Without context? You seem to be the one failing to grasp the context. Toriko's anime was super popular with kids. Sold butt loads in merchandise, built a franchise with games, movie etc. Your opinion of its story peak means nothing since BC sales has also shown signs of decline meaning people are slowly not supporting it. It only has average sales going for it.
Why people bring up worldwide popularity as some sort of safe cushion is beyond me. BC's biggest market always has and always will be Japan. If its decline exceeds a certain point in Japan, WSJ won't be shy to cancel it.
You keep saying it's a different era with different rules without any evidence to back your statement and also ignore series that were cancelled just two years ago that were bigger or debuted better than BC ever did.
Your opinion that WSJ has somehow transformed in the last two years and that we should ignore how WSJ worked for the last 4 decades before these two years with no proof is just misplaced, at this point.

Guys. Is me, or this Act-age color page can potentially be the best color page of Shonen Jump in this year?

Shiro has masterfully played with the colors in this color spread. And that Yonagi expression.

So, that's the position of Yozakura in the real TOC, it isn't really a good position.

Even if Yozakura is still outside bottom 5, it could fall in this place the next week.

I hope this goes up positions in the TOC.

Pretty disappointed with CSM' CP, but this Act Age one is SO BEAUTIFUL!

I'm a little surprised by Yozakura's drop. I thought it would drop this week, but not that much.

The situation of Yozakura seems, so far, pretty similar to Yui Kamio. It starts high in the TOC, but it drops a lot its second week (still outside the bottom 5).

We just can hope Yozakura does not end up with similar fate in its third week.

Reminder that Saint Seiya (the classic anime) is already available in Netflix, so for he ones who haven't watched it, give a chance and watch one of most important Jump anime ever.
