Volume 17 is going out on the 23rd, while volumes 1-5 go out on the 30th and volumes 6-16 go out on the 31st.

So even tho there's huge reprints already in store all of the backlog volumes are in the 100s to 300s? If so that really sucks, I hope the hype didn't die down that bad already.

Beelzebub though not an old classic. Tamura might have a chance to turnaround his continuous bottom ranking if it was in the current main roster.

Maybe the restocks hasn't reach all the bookstores, maybe all those who wants to buy already have the volumes... I mean, I ordered volumes 14-17 in Amazon Japan and it says the books won't be available for delivery until the 30th... So yeah, the weekly ranking and the next few days will tell if the demand has cooled down or not...

Reprint takes a while to appear on Oricon and Shoseki, Similar thing happened with vol 16 before which had a reprint on 9/6 but began to do better starting from 9/12

It was completely worthless even before that. Like how do you know people weren't doing that for other series? Also most series that get early fan-translation loose views for sure compared to series that didn't had fan translations. So it never was an accurate measure of popularity.

Makes me cringe cause literally every comment is “LETS GET TO 300 COMMENTS GUYS AND MAKE THE SERIES THE TOP 2 SERIES!” Rather than actual discussion of the series.

On one end this is a possibility for other series, and sure; being a popular series on Manga+ doesn’t necessarily measure its popularity.

However I think my above post is very telling. The comments of Boruto is full of fans spamming the comments section and begging ppl to get the series to #2.
There is no discussion of the content itself going on.
Where as in any other series most of the comments are actually discussion of the chapter.

So what? You wanted to discuss there and are annoyed by the spam? Or you are annoyed they will beat SxF?

You can't possible believe that Spy x Family is almost twice more popular than MHA and KnY. Pretty sure some crazy fans were also increasing its views like that. Its really obvious that the ranking there is flawed and that was obvious from the beginning of mangaplus, as anyone could start his own campaign to increase the views of his favourite series in secret.

And if you already know that that list doesn't necessarily measure popularity, then why care about it?
