Wait, for that Young Jump Love thing, is this a new magazine or just a one-time special publication? Also, the most interesting part of that to me is that the author of Pocchi Gokko is already back with the company. Is was feeling pretty certain that a series getting cancelled before the first volume was released meant an issue existed between the author and publisher, but if they're still working with him, I guess either the author just wanted to end it or it was wildly unpopular

It is like Young Jump Battle, an special issue.
Who knows if there will be another special issue in the future.

Depending on what's planning on being absent in its premiere issue, maybe the author was just requested to release the first 2 chapters at the same time to fill up some space. From what I saw in the oneshot, I could see it being a normal length series. But now that you mention it, making it half-length could very easily happen as well

I really enjoyed those one shots too though I have to say I was kinda disappointed in the one by TerraFormars authors. Favorite was probably Duelant followed by the Killing Mission oneshot. Third place would go the one with the food battles.
Tanuki one felt pretty crowded in terms of panelling.
Bakeneko was pretty good, the artist only needs to improve on his drawings and he could have a pretty interesting series if he gets serialized.

Man, Weekly Young Jump has had such a rough year this year for its newbies, plus several decently-selling veterans wrapping up their series this year. Even the ones I though would do decently have all basically tanked. However, Shikabana failing to chart for even a single day in the top 500 I'm pretty sure just moved it up to the top of the list for the next thing to leave the magazine.

As always any series that showed some life in its first volume, had major drops in the second one. While that was expected for Shuttle Eyes and Maid in Hikkomuse, Kawaisou ni ne, Genki-kun has to be a big disappointment for YJ. Unlike others, they had faith in this one. Also, looking at the daily ranking it had been holding up worse than the first volume, so overall drop could be worse.

Unlike Sunday, Young Jump has been able to find series that could catch the attention of the readers. Just looking at first volume sales, there has been a lot of promising newbie in the last 2 years or so. The problem is almost all of them did get rejected past the first volume. Honestly, %30 or something drop Kawaisou ni ne showed could even be considered as average for YJ new series.

To be clear, I don't think Kawaisou ni ne, Genki-kun is dead or anything. While it's not doing much better than Doujigun Kan and Tiempo which just moved to Tonari no YJ, clearly they favored this series more than others newbies. That could be a good thing or a bad thing, we will see which is it.

On another note, Diner has returned to pre-movie sales, so the movie didn't help much and Batuque had a somewhat positive data point. It was the first time it didn't show any drop from the previous volume.
