Also it really shows the difference a really good anime episode can make. People say stuff like 'oh this show was adapted well and got a low boost' and 'this show got an amazing boost with a terrible adaptation' but this insane growth wouldn't have happened without the incredible Hinokami Kagura scene and the crazy reception it got. Sure the volumes were doing well already but not this well until ep 19 really catapulted it into the mainstream.
I hope Ufotable will be working on Kimetsu until the end and Kimetsu not meet OPM s2 fate.

I don't think aniplex will allow that.

I think OPM was a different case, it was more a Natsume's project than a Madhouse series.

Which goes to show that this is a bandwagon effect in the likes of AoT with the only difference being that AoT was catapulted into the mainstream and was a topic of discussion from the very first episode while it took 19 for people to realize that Kimetsu wasn't atypical seasonal shounen affair so now they're getting caught up because its a topic of discussion now whether or not it'll hold is up in the air since Haikyuu was showing similar numbers when it got its boost and went down a lot since then. If its fans are actually loyalist like Kingdom and MHA then this is a big deal but it could all just be a fad in the end.

it was really thanks to the epi 19 animation... like if people really get their mind blown off for this... haha jezus man, let alone the coming arc... people gonna have a guarenteed heart attack.

for my opinion, the episode wasnt even best animation of the year...

Given how much hype the movie is getting after the first trailer they better not disappoint because its so far not a huge leap from the TV series in terms of animation.

espcially with Ufotable, these fans wont be dissaponted. cuz the heavy stuff will happen on the train arc.

i wasnt amazed reading the manga until i met the pillar introduction. it was mostly the aesthetic that kept me going reading it with a 80's style of feel

Be prepared for Kimetsu no Yaiba by Toei, where 1 episode adapts 10 pages, the gore will become non-existent and it will run weekly for 4 years to milk the last drop of this new cash cow.

People want to get caught up since this arc is seen as the "final/endgame", when the anime ended, the manga was getting to the big fights. Its nice timing really. The only way I see the boost taking a hit is if something stupid happens in the manga.

Keeping up with the topic, KnY twitter has already 725k followers. It got my attention that this tweet got over 90k likes by just announcing a crossover with some cute raccoons lol.

Toei/Pierrot was every manga readers worst nightmare when we got the news of Kimetsu being adapted.

People still defend those studios despite the constant criticisms of their adaptations.

Much like MHA can attract such vitriol just by anyone praising it for anything nowadays I get brought up when I'm not even apart of the conversation. Man grow up and don't let another person's opinion rile you up so much to the point where you have to use "undefendable" unironically.
It's because you upvote literally every comment that praises MHA. Anyway the point isn't about you, the point is that MHA's choreography is bottom tier.

...I never thought about this possibility of it being all just a fad. I think it could explain a thing or two I've been wondering about. I don't think it's just a fad (at least in Japan, I have no fucking clue about the West) but I honestly think when the boost is all said and done, Kimetsu will have reached its absolute peak. It will be an extremely impressive one considering where it started, but still a peak. I do think Kimetsu will retain some new hardcore fans, though, so even when it drops in sales, it'll still have made an astounding run nonetheless.

That's just my take, at least. Who the heck knows at this point?

I don't think aniplex will allow that.
You say that, but the reason that The Seven Deadly Sins Season 3 is what it is because the anime movie, Prisoners of the Sky, underperformed (compare box office numbers of that to MHA: Two Heroes which came out around the same time) and so Aniplex themselves just dumped the IP. Now, Kimetsu is a huge success, so that makes this far less likely to happen, but never say never.

I do hope Aniplex allows Ufotable to adapt the series in its entirety though. They should see that it's been working out out remarkably well for them.

It's less likely to happen tho. They know the potential of adapting the entire series, specially the red light district arc. I feel Nanatsu is a different case. It was an original production (almost canon perhaps?), KnY will be adapting an arc from the manga.

Dude, you literally post this:
You and Chocobar must be very stalwart fans...
So is a little about him.
I posted that Kimetsu and MHA choreography got better over the time(so I'm not praising it), but your post is indefensible.

That's also fair! Speaking of Aniplex, what's your hopes and realistic expectations for how they handle distributing the Kimetsu movie in the West?

A LOT of people are gonna want to see it, if MAL is of any reasonable indication, no matter how small. More than even Heroes Rising, probably because Kimetsu's movie is actually fully canon that must be watched before viewing any future material. So, uh, they're gonna have to really make sure the film gets out there.

Mmmmm since Ufotable has been tweeting in all languages and thanking the west audience while anime was airing, I think this can go worldwide. Do you remember that the first 5 episodes were in a movie format and it premiered in France, Australia, United states, (I don't remember the last one, but I think it was south Korea)? . But this time it can premiere in more countries.
