Dimaria has around the same level of magic power as God Serena. She would probably beat him in the same fashion as she did Brandish. If age seal is somehow restricted, God Serena would win after a good fight.

We don't know how much magic power Gildarts has in relation to God Serena, but we do know that Gildarts is probably stronger than Laxus. Given that Laxus killed Wall and would have killed Ajeel if not for August, both of whom also rival God Serena in magic power, it stands to reason that Gildarts would have beaten God Serena. Especially considering Gildart's crash has an advantage over God Serena's dragon slaying magic. We haven't seen God Serena pull out attacks like Natsu's dragon force punch that would offset the advantage crash has.

You clearly speculate levels that Mashima never showed, it's just theory, speculation. Spirits have definite levels, and they haven't improved at all.

They are easily defeated in most fights. You can argue, contest. No use, the manga clearly shows the relevance of spirits in fights. They are totally circumstantial and in a direct fight they are defeated with few attacks (sometimes only one attack is enough).

Spirits have definite levels, and improve from that level (according to the summoner's magical power). There is an official table of the spirits status on the Wiki.

This is very cool, but it never got out of theory because Mashima forgot it.

We haven't actually seen the spirits in a legit battle to say one way or another really. We seen a little bit more with Gemini and Scorpio Sandbuster in Alveraz is stronger than in other arcs we have seen it. These are the only two times we have seen the spirits actually truly use magic to attack really. However based off Stardress which supposedly only use a portion of the Spirits power then it is clear they are much more powerful than they once were.

However power scaling is not consistent all around not just concerning Lucy. I mean the same Sword Erza used to easily slice through an Mega enchanted Meteor was easily destroyed by Kyria's blades and the same dude that burned through Infinite Magic and Time/Space can't seem to use fire in water.

Also I don't think Hiro mashima forgot about because not to long ago is makes a reference about how Lucy Stardress Mix doesn't really have the same power as Leo and Virgo in a way that made it seem weaker. Then proceeds to continue to say that Stardress only has a portion of the spirits power. He clearly wants to show Lucy off rather than her spirits but still acknowledge the power of the spirits through the stardress. It is hard to progress both without making her more powerful than you want her to be. For example if he wanted her to be equal to Gray he wouldn't make a Spirit equal to Gray because then when you factor in the fact she can summon multiple spirits at once and use Stardress then it makes her more powerful than Gray. So he tries to find a balance by making her combined strength of Stardress+Spirits equal to Gray. Mind you this is just an example not me saying She is equal to Gray so need for a debate. Back to my point though, Hiro simply doesn't really do it well though. With so many characters to focus on in an arc he doesn't have time to really give much thought to the balance so one ends up taking the lead over the other, Usually the stardress. However like I pointed out he uses the stardres as a way to still acknowledge the spirits powers.

It's really because Lucy's magic would be and even still is too OP. If she makes 2 of herself / Gemini and summons her strongest spirits (Gemini summons 2 and she summons 1 more) and if those spirits are comparable to Wendy, Juvia or even Erza and Mira and perform like it seriously, as some would want, she would no doubt be the strongest mage in the guild since that would give her the power to have all sorts of wacky combinations with insanely strong spirits. Imagine Lucy and Gemini with star dresses on having comparable power to Wendy and let's say Leo is comparable to Gray or she gets Aquarius and she's comparable to Erza and she has all those on the field at the same time. This is why Lucy's spirits eg) Leo and Aquarius have to be limited by plot and gags. We already saw Aquarius tie with Juvia in the GMG and at that point she could summon 2 spirits at once. Now she has star dresses and their combination forms on top of that.

So the notion that Lucy's spirits should NOW be beyond her and capable of beating people like Mirajane on their own cannot work for FT's power scaling to remain in tact. This is why Lucy star dresses, combination of spirits out at once and intelligence are used.

And even in the canon manga thus far we saw Lucy easily handle Lisanna and Taurus being hyped to be able to contend with Elfman better than Leo. That's just Lucy and 1 spirit being possibly > Elfman + Lisanna and she can still summon at least 1 more spirit. They should be glad Mira is there to stop Lucy from logically dominating.

The few moments that Virgo and other Spirits battled seriously was mostly on filler arcs and those times when they were 1st introduced. I really hope Mashima will utilize the spirits more in a serious battle instead of making them a subject for gags.

We haven't seen their full potential yet. And they are supposedly stronger than Lucy's SDM individually right now. I am also hoping that Mashima will use those eclipsed form of the spirits because for me they looked cooler and badass compared to their current form,like make it their 2nd form like Pisces perhaps?

It's a good thing that Lucy can fight on her own right now,but I wish her spirits will be given their shining moments on her battles,win or lose.
