Discussion Characters who should/should've died

How many times do i have to state that this is not a prediction,rather how would have i wanted it went.

Not saying in prediction, but it be something won't happen even if you want it.

Who should have died?:

- Makarov: Should have died at the end of Tenrou or when Zeref almost executed him in Alvarez.

- Mirajane: Would have been a hype Irene moment for her to crucify her corpse outside the FT guild on the hill.

- Gajeel/Levy: Gajeel should have died killing Bradman, Hiro ruined one of the best emotional scenes in the manga by bringing him back. Likewise Levy should have died, she had no business tanking a 'Curse that surpasses the 9', not to mention she breathed in a load of MBPs without protection.

- Cobra: I wouldn't want him to die but Acno pulverised his organs lmao

As for who I want/wanted to die:

- Gildarts: He had is time, would have preferred switching Gildarts vs August and CS vs August - this way August gets the hype of stomping Gildarts and killing him, then Jellal + CS beat August (this only works within my re-write of Alvarez where August isn't a Copy Ninja)

- Lisanna: I don't hate her but she's a bit of a needless character. She only pops up when a fodder character is needed, if she was killed off again we at least might get the bonus of Mira getting a power up/stomping someone

- Ajeel: This guy's redemption was stupid as hell, are we really supposed to feel forgiveness to an idiot that never considered other people might not want their families killed?

Makarov! (Permanently! It will a good relief moment both for us and for makarov, plus laxus will be the guild master)
Yukino ( story wise so there will be a good reason to why libra and pisces will end up with lucy, it whould be a sad touching moment!)

I didn't think of Yukino and other Keys. It would be a way to go and might be possible to happen this sequel as if Sabertooth do come to help, it can lead to her eventual death and Lucy owner of all keys, but the cost of her friend though.

Even then it would be likelier that Sorana would inherit her keys. Finally finding your sister and then losing her? Doubt she would give up on the keys that would her last connection to her. In theory, Sorana could get the 13th key, as I can't imagine Lucy getting it.

I would have honestly been ok with Mira dying as long as she got a moment to really shine before that.

I think will Gildarts end up dying protecting Cana from the White Witch or Dragon Eaters.

Even then it would be likelier that Sorana would inherit her keys. Finally finding your sister and then losing her? Doubt she would give up on the keys that would her last connection to her. In theory, Sorana could get the 13th key, as I can't imagine Lucy getting it.

Maybe if Mashima kills off Yukino and Sorano then Lucy would get Yukino's keys and Yukino and Sorano would still be able to be a family.

I can't clearly fathom how Brandish was able to shrink Mira's hole in her heart. It would be acceptable if she got punctured by her arm. I mean, Future Lucy got punctured on the stomach but still dead.

I dont get the logic of healing the dead person, and then comes back to life.
Unless Wendy didnt heal them, but enchant her life support or something.

Too mang fake deaths in that arc

Lissana should've never came back unless Natsu x Lissana was going to be a thing again. She did absolute jack after coming back, what was even the point of bringing her back?

I don't know, sometimes I think like Mashima's writing abilities are so low.

 

[Gladiolus]

Lisanna should have never being brought back. She's little more than a plot device to motivate Mira/Elfman in fights, which is exactly what she did when she was "dead". Other than that the only thing she has caused are stupid ship wars which are also pointless since it's clear NaLu will be Natsu's endgame ship. Even more, with Mira and Elfman being irrelevant both in the current plot and powerscale, she adds literally nothing to the series at this point.

Makarov should have died either in Tenrou against Acnologia or in Alvarez when pulling that last Fairy Law against the Alvarez Berserkers. Tenrou situation can be excusable, but him being revived at the last second clearly showed Mashima at that point didn't give a flying f*ck.

As much as I like Gajeel, he should have died when Bloodman took him to the afterlife. Universe One was casted after Bloodman did the deal, so Gajeel's return was another proof Mashima wasn't trying.

Freed and/Bickslow should have been killed off at the start of Tartatos arc when Tempesta poisoned them with the Magical Barrier Particles. I do like them, I do really do, but they're only marginally better than Lisanna post-Tenrou and nowadays their only function is being Laxus simps. Their efficience in battles during the current arcs was made clear when Gray alone easily defeated them without trying, proving they're useless against any Spriggan-tier or above enemy. I would include Evergreen, but she has the ship card with Elfman, so killing her is more difficult. In the same vein, Yajima should have also died there.

Happy surviving Jackal's suicide explosion (able to detonate an entire city) was complete and utter bullcrap.

Minerva shouldn't have been redeened and should have been killed in Tartaros, maybe killing herself when Erza would try to appeal to the good side still remaining in her, spitting in her face and announcing once more her hatred against her and Fairy Tail in her dying breath, showing not all people have the heart to be redeemed and get a second chance (Mashima with Edens Zero mentality would have pull that tho).

Some of the minor Fairy Tail members + some members from the other guilds should have died both during Future Rogue's rampage in Crocus and Alvarez arc. You're telling me that there is a country scale war and only the bad guys effectively die? The Future Rogue case has a justification with Ultear casting Last Ages (though that all the people who were killed died in that exact minute is eyebrow rising at the very least) but Alvarez has no justification. I'm not saying Mashima should have gone full Akame ga Kill mode and killing everyone, but characters no one cares such as Macao, Wakaba, Droy, Nab, Laki, Eve, Beth, Risley, Rufus, Orga, Sawyer, someone from Quatro Puppy, etc. should have been good enough to get rid off, as they're little more than wasted ink. That way the war against Alvarez would have actually show some stakes and would have at least gave some redemption to Alvarez as an antagonistic force.

Lastly, I'm not saying they should have died there, but if Wendy and Carla would have died when they activated Face's self-destruction spell it would have been one of the best deaths from the series.

Honestly, I do not mind people not dying, though I get people’s frustration of overly used fake deaths, but hey this is suppose to be a light hearted story for Hiro, and he said if he wants a character dead, he would do so in a way that there is absolutely no doubt that they are dead.
