I do somewhat think that Chainsaw Man's violent content is holding it back from marketing somewhat. I mean that I don't see it getting Act-Age treatment anytime soon. It really is a far-cry from the 80's days, were one of the more popular series was Hokuto no Ken....
Demon Slayer's also pretty violent, although Chainsaw Man does... add at least one layer of gratuity onto that. I still think that it's going to get plenty of marketing once WSJ is ready to start pushing the series. For the most part, if it's okay enough to be in the magazine, it's probably okay enough to market. With Yuuna as the one possible current exception.
Incidentally, this reminds me of a quote from the interview about Kimetsu's development that I always found interesting;
――Please tell us about the process leading up to the serialization of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba”.
Katayama: In my fourth year at the company, I had finally returned to the editorial department after working elsewhere in the company, and Gotoge-sensei was one of the first manga artists I was put in charge of. At that time he had just finished his second one-shot manga in Jump, “Rokkotsu-san”, and I was the one who submitted it. Afterwards he told me he wanted to create a series, and we started working on “Haeniwa no Zigzag”, which after failing to be serialized would become his third one-shot publication. I continued to mull over how to make best use of Gotoge-sensei’s style and talent. I came to the conclusion that an easy to understand theme would be best. With that in mind we chose to work off of his award winning debut title, “Ka Gari Gari”. It has simple Japanese motif to it. I thought without a clear motif to the outfits and other elements, it would be difficult to draw up a plan. And so, we borrowed from a theme that everyone is familiar with. The stage was already set in “Ka Gari Gari”, the base was routed in reality, and the concept of the swords and demons needed no explanation to the Japanese audience. With this we created a storyboard based on “Ka Gari Gari”, which came to be known as “Kisatsu no Nagare”. However, due to its serious tone, lack of comic relief and dark story, it didn’t make the cut for serialization. I thought it wouldn’t be able to get through unless the main character wasn’t switched out, and so I asked Gotoge-sensei if there wasn’t a brighter, more normal character in the world he had created. That’s how Tanjiro and “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” came to be.
Essentially, it was believed that Kimetsu in its prototype form was too overtly dark for Jump, but the change which "fixed" that was changing the protagonist from a very dark, brooding character, to one who's defined by his kindness. Kinda makes me wonder how editorial feels about Bastard or Death Note, which had protagonists who were basically outright villains.

I theorize that Jump has kept quiet about Yuuna since the little controversy in 2017. It only got 1 or 2 covers after that, not counting the all stars covers.
I wouldn't really call Dark Schneider a villain. Sure, he's an asshole, but he occasionaly has his moments. I think they got away with him because the world of Bastard!! is so over the top and bizarre. It's not really an overtly dark or depressing manga. It never took itself too seriously.
(Reminds me....Bastard!! is also on hiatus..for almost 10 years at this point!)

Jump really does seem to overtly avoid having to outright acknowledge Yuuna unless they literally have to. Since the kerfuffle in 2017, it's had only one solo cover (for the anime airing), and its been kept out of direct promotion like promo videos. Basically doing everything to avoid associating it with their brand short of outright cancelling it.
You're right. They don't want to push Yuuna anymore. That's why it got two basically back to back color pages recently, one causing a "controversy" and the other seemingly coming out just to mock said "controversy". Second longest running romcom in WSJ, by the way. Dead series, though.

I'd argue that the color pages are there for the established readership. We're talking about Jump actively advertising the series to a potetntial new audience. You're not going to see Yuuna bilboards anytime soon.
Yuuna to Jump is like a friend that doesn't mind talking and hanging out with you, but also wouldn't mind stabbing you in the back and running away.

Also the same Jump kees giving color pages, giving good positions for the manga and letting Miura pushes the absolute limit of what the magazine allows to be published.
But yeah, for sure Jump is pretending that Yuuna doesn't exist xD lmaoo
Also, the lack of covers is something normal for ecchi mangas on Jump, To Love-ru had even less covers than Yuuna despite being way popular, you could argue that this is something quite normal for romcoms too, they didn't even bother to give a new cover for WNL season 2.

I wonder why Yuuna-san never got a second season, like most Jump anime nowadays tend to get. Were the sales bad, or did it fail to promote the manga? Not saying it won't happen, but it's kinda telling that most second seasons or continuations are usually announced at the end of the first season, but that wasnt the case for Yuuna.
Not really, if i remember it sold better than WNL, the limited editions of the manga including OVA also sold well, like between 5k~10k per volume, like i said months ago, i still think that Xebec current situation is one of the big reasons why it didn't got a second season.

Xebec went under earlier this year. They got sold to some part of Sunrise. That probably messed things up. If we don't see anything next year, then I'd lose all hope.
a real shame.......chapter 141 needed to be animated.

It didn't sell more than WNL. Both animes didn't give either series a boost, however WNL has managed to stay stable for the past 7 volumes (it usually sells around 100k within 3 weeks) while Yuuna has only declined in sales (it usually only stays in the chart for 2 weeks and the last volume only did 50k).
Also, to counter the cover and "wider audience" angle, it's an almost four year old series that was clearly never meant to appeal to wider audiences. It already has the fanbase it was intended for; there's no need to force feed it to others who clearly don't want if if they haven't checked it out after four years.
