Hi everyone! I've had this account for years but I mostly lurk here as I don't typically have much to say. But tracking manga sales lately has been too interesting for me not to participate (thanks KnY).


I've looked it up and this is actually the lowest first week sales of a One Piece volume since Oricon started releasing this data back in 2008. The previous lowest one was volume 51 with 1,029,249 in September 2008. That volume however had 4 days of sales compared to just 2 for volume 95 so the latter is probably still selling better.

Volume 51 was pre-Strong World film boost. It shouldn't be compared to 95.

Absolutely not, the writing and strategy is infantile.

That makes half of Naruto even worse in comparison. Nothing post pain arc comes close to the current arc of Boruto.

Also, I've liked a lot this Zipman chapter. Yozakura and the two gag manga chapters have also been great.

It's not bad in isolation. What's bad is that it represents the series being on a decline and may have peaked. It's nothing to get worked up about now, but if the trend continues or accelerates, it's a bad sign for the longevity of the series.

Managing the M+ account has made me conscious of the huge lack of information people had regarding the platform, with people sometimes not even knowing they were able to use the platform on their PC or laptop after (almost) 1 freaking year of existence. I don't really know if this is just people not caring enough to even check actual official sources to support the content they consume or a huge, huge communicative error from the official side. Probably both.

Yozakura finally gave us a sorta Nanao chapter, does that mean we've gotten a chapter for each sibling at this point? Overall a solid chapter, didn't leave behind it's roots as a comedy but also definitely seemed like it was paving the way for a potentially more action focused future.

Mitama was still funny, nothing really to say about it.

Zipman is fine, decent enough chapter, liked the new girl.

Agravity might've been my favorite chapter in the whole magazine this week ngl, those last few pages were gut busting.

Being on that fandom for 10 years, it's largely because people don't know how to use google despite it being available for over 10 years.

Lack of google skills wouldn't surprise if it was a decent sized part of the reason. Manga+ does need more promotion but whenever some big scan site gets shut down you always get a bunch of people getting worried and having no idea where they're going to get their manga now, as if there aren't 100 other leecher sites with all the same stuff.
