Well, judging by this old preview page:
WSJ has four broad categories. Battle, Sports, Gag, and Love Comedy. They might have one or two more categories that weren't advertised on that particular page, but you can pretty easily fit most WSJ series into one of the categories. Right now it's probably something like:
Battle:
One Piece
My Hero Academia
Black Clover
Kimetsu no Yaiba
The Promised Neverland
Dr. Stone
Jujutsu Kaisen
Chainsaw Man
Samurai 8: The Tale of Hachimaru
Zipman!!
Sport:
Haikyu!!
Act-Age
Gag:
Mission: Yozakura Family
Mitama Security: Spirit Busters
Agravity Boys
Love Comedy:
Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs
We Never Learn
So the category they're hurting the most in at the moment is Gag series. All three series in that category are new and have yet to prove themselves. I think the last real success they had in the gag slot was Saiki Kusuo no Psi-nan, and before these current three, I don't think they had anything in that slot since Jimoto ga Japan moved magazines, and David ended.
So they're currently throwing a bunch of gag focused series out to see what sticks. They don't need a massive success, just something that'll hold it's own and be around for a couple years.
