Kimetsu has some great character writing though and most of them don't have plot armor so the fights usually have high stakes and feel more impactful than most series.
I don't think it is a masterpiece of writing in shounen but it is absurd to call it "DB with swords" and that it doesn't deserve its success. If it'll make you feel better it will most likely not come close to OP at its peak
People are doing this too much here recently. Stop changing what people say. I said I don't think it deserves to beat One Piece over some other manga but I'm extremly happy for its success. Don't try that "iF itLl makE u fElL bettER" shit with me please.
One word replies are against forum rules right, @Buranchi?

I like KnY art more than MHA's. Tied with BC and Jujutsu. Jujutsu and KnY have great battle choreography and BC and KnY have great designs. The story is great. I honestly believe you are either very young still, which is fine, or have not read a lot, which is fine. When you can appreciate something like Natsume Yuujinchou or 3-Gatsu no Lion, manga with no "fights", where the story is "meh and nothing happens" like you said, you might understand different appeals to different stories.

Calm down.
Pretty sure he wasn't trying to be condescending with his response but rather give you other facts about OP's actual peak itself that probably wont be topped because you definitely seemed annoyed/disturbed/uncomfortable with the notion that KNY was "overhyped" and was selling more than OP.
Bleach is probably the series I hold the closest to my heart. But I do put other series above it, in terms of quality. But if you think its better, good for you and Kubo (probably)

I dunno. From the 15-20 chapter of JK I read, I definitely saw more of Bleach there than I did in KNY.
The guy with the Adromeda Shun profile picture who started this said he was pissed because of what's going on with DS. I did say it was over hyped and stuff as a reason to why he might be pissed off. Despite everything I said I just want to clarify that I still like DS and I am happy for its success. I guess I'm just a fanboy who wishes some other manga got this kind of boost.
JK to me feels like a hybrid of Bleach, Naruto and Hunter x Hunter.
If you oversimplify and reduce them to plot points (ie people fight with swords, numbered enemies, big good organization etc.) then yes, but the series themselves are nothing alike.

That is true. Which is why I used to say Demon Slayer is like the new bleach to me.
If you were the new editor of WSJ in Japan, name1-3 big (or small) changes you would implement.
I would;
1. Implement the break rotation thing we all spoke about last year. Allowing all mangaka to get breaks every now and then.
2. Reduce unnecessary bad sexual content in newer series.
3. Put more resources into Manga+ and promote the hell outta it, worldwide.

1. Include a rotation of four monthly series from veteran mangaka. (which could also go hand-in-hand with your break idea. Allow one mangaka to have a break a week replaced by one of the four monthly series)
2. Put more resources into Jump/Manga+ and promote the hell outta it, worldwide. (including sending more cancelled series over to the service if they weren't completely DOA. See if they can find more life there) (perhaps allow certain series that do very well in Jump+ to get brought over to the paper mag as well)
3. Don't market to incels.

I love the idea of putting cancelled series onto Jump+ and Manga+. There is always a chance a series might find more success outside Japan. Perhaps, when the industry gets a better grasp of the digital age, WSJ can actually implement something like this.
Might give people the motivation to try something new and not stick to typical generic settings.

I'm really surprised Jump hasn't started doing this.
They have tried it with iShoujo and Soul Catcher(S) moving them to Jump Live (the predecessor to Jump+), but it never ended up being a regular thing.
I guess I'm From Japan got that treatment as well so maybe it happen more often? I doubt it. Japan editorial team seems very confused as to what to do with digital services.

2. Encourage innovation and uniqueness in terms of manga.
3. Make apps like MangaPlus more accessible.

I mean, you may say that but you're clearly upset, otherwise you wouldn't keep repeating that MHA/BC/JJK and now bleach are better than Kimetsu.
I'm not clearly upset. I made it clear in the first message that I wasn't. You're just picking fights. On what planet does saying one manga is better than the other mean that you hate its success and you're upset about it?????

1. Release the magazine digitally a day or 2 ahead of the physical releases to kill leak groups and fan scans. Either that, or delay the physical release by a day or two
2. Outside of color pages and the Cover series, get rid of the entire “ranking” system of popular series at the top and cancel fodder at the bottom. Feel like it makes more fair for new series that way. Often people will never give a series a shot when they see it at the bottom of the TOC, or automatically hate a series due to mob mentality.
The reader polls would still be a thing. Readers just won’t be able to guess what series are getting cancelled as easily.
Color pages will still be a thing reserved for series that are showing signs of success, which would give readers somewhat of a hint of what’s doing well.
3. The same idea Rica posted above about added 4 Monthly series that rotate every week.

I'm still kinda curious at why does people think that changing the date of release of some product would kill early leaks, when it's not about the product, but the distribution. Even if we were to change the release date of magazines from Sunday to freaking Tuesday, the product itself needs to arrive to the distribution point EARLIER, which means that same distribution point COULD put it on sale at that date, and so still be sold earlier than it's supposed to and generate leaks, fanscans, and etc. It's not hard. It's not the publisher's fault.

They are saying that only the digital should be released early which would solve the problem. The magazine would be digitally released on Friday while physical releases on Sundays like before. There would be no reason for fans to illegally scanlate and distribute the chapters on Fridays since they would be officially released on digital at that time.

Everyone is a aware it’s a distribution reason. I’m fully aware that it leaks due to ppl getting a copy at a local store early.
1. Releasing the magazine digitally before the leakers typically leak it or a around the same time would hurt leakers. They can only leak it but so fast.
2. If you release the magazine slightly later, that means it’ll likely be distributed slightly later as well. Leaving more time for it to be released digitally before leakers have time to leak they copy the obtained

The American music industry use to have an issue with music leaking 3-7 days ahead of release, because retailers would be shipped physical copies of albums early, and just leave them in storage until the release date, which is when they’ll put the CDs on shelves.
Now that the music industry in American has geared more towards digital releases, it’s very rare that you’ll see music leak before its intended release date now.
So releasing things digitally first, or pushing back the physical date has been 2 methods that’s have been proven to help prevent leaks
Music switching to digital as first priority made sense since everyone was switching to digital music anyway with mp3 players and phones. Physical copies were becoming collector's things, rather than people buying physical stuff for the music itself. Just look at how Vinyls have overtaken CDs in sales at this point.
Manga however is still pretty physical focused, certain publishers barely even have a digital presence. Maybe at some point years down the line digital manga will be the #1 and phsyical will become purely for collectors, and can e shifted to lower priority, but for now, releasing a magazine days earlier digitally in Japan is a bad idea.

Did read otherwise, so my bad on there. Still, it just comes then to the same solution as always, just switching to digital, which would be the most consumed content that way and would solve the issue with leaks, but would hurt the physical release which could disappear completely. We would be talking also about lots, lots of firings and money loses in printings. I think it's way more complex than just changing release dates, and that it's not even related to Jump anymore, but to the whole manga industry and production system that bases its earnings on this activity, which has been built in pure tradition.
