Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

What do you think about the chance that Bleach LN has adaptations in manga or anime (if the anime returns)?

I think the BLEACH 20th-anniversary project will include:
-BLEACH manga gets a Kanzenban (60ish or so volumes, would love what kind of new covers Kubo Tite would come up with), maybe release 2 volumes per month or something.
-Thousand-Year War arc animated (Hopefully a TV series, if not OVAs/Movies).
-New BLEACH movie.
-Burn the Witches OVA, then a one/two cour series if it's successful. (Kubo as the screenwriter and the character designer).
-New BLEACH novels.
-Lots of different BLEACH merchandising (Toys, figures, stuff like that).
-BLEACH Game for current consoles.
-BLEACH related One-Shot in WSJ.
-Kubo Tite's new manga (Published in WSJ). Also please don't be BLEACH related, unless it's the serialization of Burn the Witches, I just don't like the "Next Generation" kind of series like Boruto, Saint Seiya Omega, Shaman King Flowers.. I just hate the "Main characters' kids" trope, just feels like a money grab or something.
-Zombie Powder Anime (!) not likely at all, but ey a man can dream, imagine if say Kubo gets to end the first story he wanted to tell via anime, I could see it being a 26 episodes anime or something like that.

I think Shueisha more or less knows when Kimetsu No Yaiba is gonna end, and they will start this project around March IIRC, so by that time KnY is probably gonna end or either will have already reached its peak in sales (As in not be getting reprint after reprint like it's been getting) so as to not steal BLEACH's thunder.

Also, anyone knows if/when BLACK CLOVER anime is gonna end? I think I heard it was supposed to end at episode 150 ish? What episode is it on right now? (So Pierrot would theoretically continue BLEACH).

Also next (or maybe this) year ONE PIECE will reach its 100th volume and you can bet your ass Shueisha is gonna be promoting it like crazy. So right now is all about Kimetsu, next is gonna be BLEACH's 20th, then probably Dai no Daiboken when the anime arrives (it's getting a game made by Square Enix so that's big enough on its own, but I can also see it getting a Kanzenban release but probably not by Shueisha who knows)

Episode 119 airs tomorrow and the anime is slated for 153 episodes as of now. If TV Tokyo decides to order another 51 episodes, we'll find out a week or two before Episode 153 airs. I don't think that a possible fourth year of Black Clover will affect the chances of Pierrot continuing BLEACH though since they've basically abandoned the production at this point (a lot of it is outsourced) and as far as I know, the main staff of Black Clover had nothing to do with BLEACH (Black Clover is mainly animated by the Twin Star Exorcists team if I recall). However, if Tatsuya Yoshihara makes his way onto BLEACH after Black Clover ends, that would be beyond awesome.

Given the current developments I find March too early for KNY to finish, maybe it will happen in May or June.

Black Clover currently has 118 episodes (119 tomorrow) and no there's no sign of it ending. Around 150 episodes is when the anime will reach the end of its third season, but they'll probably go on for a 4th season.

OP won't be able to release the 100th volume this year. As I said before, OP volumes release when they have little to no backlog to fill a tankoubon so the series needs more time (around 3 months to get enough chapters + half a month or a full month until the volume's release). OP will release probably 3 volumes this year, if it gets to release a 4th volume it will be by November..

One Piece should release around 31 chapters more this year (Jump year), considering the average of past years (of course Oda can ramp up production and get to 40-ish, but that doesn't seem likely), which should get us 37 chapters not compiled in volumes. If they mantain the backlog small, they should be able to release 96, 97 and 98 this year, but yeah, volume 100 is impossible. We should get Chapter 1000 this year, though!

Yeah nah. That's way too much stuff for a 20th anniversary thing. Something related to the anime is probably gonna be all it is. I doubt they would do movie, anime, ova etc etc. It'll just be one or two out of that entire list.

Hope this doesn't turn out in a Do you want a David-kun anime? thing.
This is a pretty fun contest. Hopefully it gets a pretty big turnout to show that there's a lot of interest in the series. Honestly, I'm half tempted to figure out how to submit a design since I feel like my (lack of) art skills might not be too out of place for a spirit design lol. Speaking of the Kobe picture he drew, I wouldn't have been surprised if Kobe would've made an appearance in the series regardless of this tragic incident. Babe Ruth already showed up, and he seemed to enjoy drawing basketball scenes.
Reprints for Jump+
January 28 Fire Punch 1-8
February 4 2.5D Seduction 2
February 5 Oyakusoku no Neverland
February 5 Bokukyaku Battery 2,4,5
February 6 Dosanko Gyaru Is Mega Cute 1
February 7 2.5D Seduction 1
February 7 Mato Seihei no Slave 1
Dosanko Gyaru and Mato Seihei hype! The art in Dosanko is a bit weird at times, but the series has a surprising amount of heart in it. I'm glad to see that it's doing decently well. Mato Seihei I just read on a whim last week, and the artwork is pretty sharp on this one. It was a pretty good read and actually felt different enough even though it doesn't have the most unique plot when examine at a high level

Mitama's contest and Volume 1 sales will determine if the series has built up an audience. The week of Feburary 4th will be the decisive week for Mitama fans.......I PRAY FOR MITAMA.

In other news, the Yuuna chapters finally got translated. Yuuna 191 gave me depression, those types of chapters always mess with me..192 was a fun riot though.poor Hyoudou

I was anxious for new Yuna chapters. One entire week without it.

If this is a brand new WSJ series, guaranteed Kubo isn't doing the art.

There's no way he's going to put himself through that hell again after the experience he had last time.
most authors complain about their work schedule and how it affected their health then come back with a new manga
don't see why Kubo return would be impossible

I was just reading about that. Man, His death and the reaction to it are eye-opening. Inoue also vaguely tweeted about it.

Also,

Is that all? I always wondered how much some of the other popular or new series were selling internationally. It doesn’t matter as much, but I think it’s still a good data point.

When they reveal print numbers, are they usually worldwide figures or Japan only? I’m guessing the latter.
A bit surprised he didn't draw a tribute as well. Maybe the death's hit him too hard. Fingers crossed we'll still see something from him though.

volume 18 did 1,5M in like five weeks, they are maintaining the strategy of underprinting and reprinting, I guess. Well, it is working, so...
