Discussion What was the points of the commandments?

I believe it was stated that the archangles are immune to the commandments themselves so what was their point if the major enemy was immune to them?

The only in story reasoning that makes sense is that they functioned as a deterrent for those in the Demon World. They were the Demon King's Elite Guards, so all of them in the same area would ensure no shenanigans would get by without punishment.

When War Time came, it probably helped for the fodder, but they generally relied on their actual combat ability to get the real work done.

That being said, while I like the idea of it, I think Nakaba made the triggers for most of the curses way to specific to actually be of any sort of use in any situation. I still think they should've paired with the Commandments' inherent magic and functioned similarly to the Sins' Sacred Treasures.

For the world building? And it's not like they haven't affected the story and wars. The AAs aren't the only Goddesses.

The points of the 10 commandments were for the DK to use them to lure Meliodas into becoming his new vessel.

And transfer his soul over there.

She will be affected without divine blessing from the SD which I doubt she had.

Mel was affected because he didn't had any divine blessing before dying, the Commandments power are hax and you need divine blessing to Counter that hax.

1) As @Mighty Escanor posted above, the main reason for the creation of the commandments was for the Demon King to easily rule over the demon world much more effectively. Each commandment modifies behaviour so the mass number of people in the demon world would be subjugated to orderly behaviour.

2) I imagine the curse of the commandment itself being effective against enemies is a secondary reasoning to the creation of the commandments, to give the elite warriors of the clan an edge in battle against the Goddesses. Naturally, this is pretty devastating for the lower-ranking Goddesses, but since the Supreme Deity countered the commandments by giving the Four Archangels and maybe Elizabeth, divine protection against them. They seem pointless.

3) To open the chance for the Demon King to acquire youth and stay in power despite someone trying to claim the throne/his power.
