Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

Basically the family of successful manga which makes up Jump's larger brand.
That's a strange way to use this term, it's seems more like asking if Shonen Jump acknowledges Psyren as part of their history, which of course they do, but as some part of their most successful series i don't think, it doesn't even had a anime and it was rushed with just 3 years.

I'd call it a semi success I guess. It's sales were better than HZ and similar to pre-anime Dr. Stone. Way below WSJ's average, tho. And I doubt WSJ will ever feature Psyren in any list or anything.

Psyren definetly got robbed of its anime, other titles like Neuro, Medaka Box, Muhyo, Beelzebub, Nurarihyon, Hinomaru Zumo all got animes while not selling super hot (and all ending relatively "soon").

Sure, all the titles I mentioned were in WSJ for 4 years (Psyren was for 3)... So maybe that's why it never got an anime Idk, I don't really know all the sale figures for the manga I mentioned, but they are also mangas which wouldn't be exactly considered great successes.

Yeah, I don't think Jump would look back and like, highlight it in their history or anything.

I will say this, though. It has the most loyal and die-hard fanbase of any series in Jump for a series of that type.

I mean, we're still talking about it in 2020.

I'm not saying SJ would put Psyren on lists and anything but that they wouldn't just act like the manga never happened, its part of their history.

Psyren definetly got robbed of its anime, other titles like Neuro, Medaka Box, Muhyo, Beelzebub, Nurarihyon, Hinomaru Zumo all got animes while not selling super hot (and all ending relatively "soon").
Beelzebub was very popular from the beginning, selling way better than Psyren and ranking really high in the ToC, NuraMago also sold quite better from the start, just the rankings that were never that great. Muhyo only got one 10 years after finished kkkk.

*insert scene from FRIENDS where the ghost inside Phoebe says "now I've seen everything*
Was not expecting YOU to say that.

Reminds me of the supposed WB Bleach movie that was announced but never made. I cannot imagine how they could ever pull off a Naruto movie in the first place.
This One Piece live action series is gonna be interesting to watch.

Did we get a release date for it?
WB made the Japanese one though, didn't they?

I mean, Hunter x Hunter going weekly would be so insane I can't not pick it. But I considered voting "other" for a new Shinohara Kenta series.

#1 will never happen unless he teams up with an artist (which I don't see happening so I can't really get excited for it), so I'll go with Matsui.

If it was not for HxH weekly, I would have voted for a Matsui new series for sure.
Need a new mystery series in WSJ with bizarre main lead (Something like Neuro) ASAP.

#1 will never happen
You're missing the point of the poll. It's not based off believability. It's based off of what you'd be most excited by if it were to happen, regardless if it's actually possible or not.

Even the fanbook lol. Another ridiculously huge week on the way and a preview for next week. Also another different KNY volume taking the #1 spot. (This one is for the 29th)

Voted for Kubo mostly because 1. it's likely given the circumstances and 2. I'd be fascinated just to see what he does, or if he ends up going the route of Kishimoto.

I chose Matsui because he usually makes not-so-typical shonen.
Whether he serialize his previous one-shot or not, I'm sure he can come up with interesting ideas.

HXH seems unlikely.

Am I the only one that wants Kubo to move to Seinen Magazines like Young Jump/Ultra Jump? I think he can do better there.

Again, guys, the poll isn't based off likelihood.

Just vote whichever would make you most excited/happy. I also allowed the option to change votes.

I voted Kawada because I see him with the most potential of the veteran authors, he came up with one of the most exciting series we have had in Jump in the recent years and I would be happy to see him being able to succed in the magazine once again, and of course, with the hope that his series being bigger than HZ was, he deserves it.

The tricky thing about Matsui is that the man is an analyst. Neuro and AssClass were purposely designed based on what he observed of Jump's current meta of the time. Who knows what he could create now, especially with how Jump has evolved in the last ten years.

Also, it's worth noting that Disney now owns the film rights (both live-action, and animation) to Dragon Ball after their acquisition of Fox.
I really wouldn't be surprised if they tried to start a Dragon Ball cinematic universe to have another tent-pole franchise alongside Marvel and Star Wars.
Oh god no.
Just no.
