Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Also, to the people asking why China would act this was, have you seen Super Eyepatch Wolf's latest video?

In it, he discusses Xu Xiaodong, a Chinese MMA practitioner who, for questioning the skill of Tai Chi "master" and later proving how China's martial arts are basically frauds, has been subjected to years of public torment and humiliation. He's been doxed, threatened, harassed, kicked out of his gym, had his social credit score lowered, been forced to sell his house, and even have to do a match in clown makeup and an offensive nickname.

All because he (correctly, mind you) argued that China's martial arts are just propaganda.

The Chinese populence is nationalistic on a level I think many fail to even comprehend.

They (trolls and extremists) are also harassing Hori's twitter account with WWII pics. For me, there will be another statement by the editors and him again.

Those aren't the Chinese. As we've established, China doesn't have twitter.

So uh, changing the subject, I was listening to the complete OST for The Promised Neverland the other day on Spotify and I can't believe how good it is. For a newbie, Takahiro Obata did an amazing job (to be expected from someone who studied under Yuki Hayashi). He perfectly captures the feel of the story's fantastical, yet mechanical and insidious world.

My two favorite tracks are "Their Own Thoughts" (not used in the anime) and "Emma's Determination", but there are so many gems. Not to mention "Isabella's Lullaby", which is honestly one of the most iconic anime songs. I really recommend giving the entire soundtrack a listen.

On that note (heh), what other Jump anime have exceptional OSTs, and what are some standout tracks? Besides TPN, Haikyu!! is definitely up there for me. "The Battle of Concepts" is an amazing tune!

This didn't do it for them as we can see. They don't want nuanced words, they want a straight apology expression, like "I'm deeply sorry" in English.
There hashtag was don't use the word, he removed the word. Nothing will be enough for them.

They were sending so many atom bomb photos one of the accounts orchestrating this had to tell the followers to stop. Another comment I saw, "horikoshi do as your grandfather did and cut your abdomen".

I'm sure people were legit entry offended and wanted a name change, but it's gone way further then that and nothing will be enough for many of these campaigners.

I didn't mean China lol, they - the trolls and extremists-.
Okay, those people I have zero fucking sympathy for. And this is as someone who has been harassed by a mob on twitter (though nowhere near as viciously).

For me there will be no others, these wounds will have to put their heart in peace.

Guys, it's one thing to debate with other users, even passionately. It's another to start insulting them outright.

Also, while people have a right to be upset about what Horikoshi did, it's also fair game to point out that what China is doing with Muslims being put into camps and literally having their organs harvested is extremely heinous.

This is a nuanced issue, but if you guys can't debate in a civil manner, then I'll be forced to restrict discussion on this subject. This is the final warning.

Let's just hope it won't turn into a serious problem that will lead him to delete/hide his account. Mobs have the power to do that, you can deal with them in your way, but Hori must be extremely cautious with what he will post from now on.

Sad, I wanted to see his new illustration celebrating his 1M followers.

And what is so offensive about Undead Unluck? there's nothing wrong with sexual/suggestive jokes per se, the girl is confirmed to be 18, so you can't even say that she is underage, in the last chapter Andy even refused her ask for sex which means he don't look at her as a piece of meat but as someone who can give him his desired death.

The whole "groping and sexual harassment" stuff already got old Stivie.
He literally said to her something along the line of "I won't have sex with someone who doesn't want it. So don't try that shit with me again"

I don't condone those people, anything that goes extreme is beyond sympathy. Also, there was another hashtag asking for an apology.

MHA of course, Hayashi Yuuki is a genious. My fave tracks are "Worthy Rival, Written and Read as 'Friend'", "Jet Set Run", "You Can Be a Hero" "All Might with U.A Students", "Your Power" and "Might+U". If you like Hayashi's work, you should check Run with the Wind's OST out, especially "We Must Go", "Black Bullet" and "The Wind Blows Strong". Also, Go Shiina is someone I'll keep my eyes on since "Kamado Tanjirou no Uta" was a complete masterpiece and there were some other cool tracks in the OST.

I know some people are bored already about the controversy, but this is actually (or at least I think so) huge regarding the topic.

Aw shit so is MHA the strongest hero cancelled? For this?????

I'm starting to think this thing with MHA is kinda extreme, but well, I'm an outsider with zero knowledge about this historic issue.
That's the thing with hardcore fans, though. When they love, it's an extreme love. When they hate, they hate the same ammount.
There’s a reason why the term fan is short for fanatic.

This whole situation saddens me, honestly, as a person who really likes both HeroAca and Horikoshi himself. It’s a shame to see a lot of people delete their fan accounts because of this incident. While their anger is definitely justified, the issue is honestly way more nuanced than at first glance. I’m just glad Hori’s admitting his mistake and trying to correct it as soon as possible. I don’t think he’s a bad person at all.

Hell, I’m surprised nobody at Shueisha caught this before the printed magazine went out. One of their biggest running franchises catching fire for this has got to be a disaster that could’ve been prevented relatively easily. Perhaps it is true that many are clueless about the negative history of the word.

I just really hope that Hori can bounce back from this. It’s a damn shame, too, since he just reached a million followers on Twitter. I just want the fandom to be happy again. Though, I guess this is the responsibility of making your way to the world stage.

Sorry, but Andy was naked before putting the girl against the wall. It is not wrong to be bothered.

Concerning the mini series starting up in the digital issues, does anyone have any insight as to whether this could be Jump testing the waters for a serialization of these series in WSJ or Jump Plus in the near future? I find it hard to believe that they are doing this for it's own sake, particularly since the authors have participated in GFC before.

Well we might get to see more Andy development considering the rising popularity and good online reception of UxU

Ooh! Mitama's first chapter has passed 10K likes on Twitter! Nowhere near the behemoth that Chainsaw Man's first chapter was, but still sizable. I doubt much of it will translate into sales (especially since Hatomune never linked a place for people to buy the first volume, lol), but the series might be able to last for a little while! If it can at least live long enough to celebrate it's first anniversary, I'll be happy.

Since we're one week away from seeing KNY 19's first week numbers, how much do you guys think it will sell? Do you guys think it can sell more than OP's biggest 6-day week in the past few years (1,862,800 with OP 85 back in 2017) or do you think they aren't going to send out enough reprints this week to cover this number?
