I don't know, I think for many mangaka, being proud of having your series serialized may be more appealing than being an assistant, even with less money? And If you have a successful series you'll eventualy may receive a considerable sum that you hardly could get by being an assistant.
Yeah, its like the equivalent of starting up your own business instead of just working under someone.

Yeah, never heard of it before either. Cover and topics on their website are what is to be expected of a low selling seinen magazine though:

But hey, at least there is some promotion of Irooki's series between all that gravure.
those are... long... to say the least

According to chinese leakers, there is an announcement in this Jump issue that says Yuuna-san is ending in 2 chapters. For the moment is an unconfirmed rumor.
That would be... far too goddamn quick if true. Would it...? I mean, the last two chapters could end a volume, so it's possible, though I'd have to severely lower my expectations for a satisfying ending. I feel like the series could go another volume or two, at least.

Still confused on that, I won't believe anything until I actually see an announcment though. Besides, the series has quite a bit of material to explore before it ends.

Ending in 2 chapters feels rather quick since we just got a batch of 3 new series, and have 2 other new series that still aren't at ch 10. Granted they just left an empty spot for a good while after Zumou ended last year but that was a natural end, I can't imagine them rushing a series to end quick then just doing nothing with the gap (unless it wanted to end with a big special finale in Jump GIGA like Souma).

When's the next Jump GIGA anyway?

Also considering we've got colour pages, I feel like we'd have a confirmation by now if it was real.

What is this? Do other authors also do work for this secret reverse thing?

Ouch, thats quite the drop for Zipman it even hurt me. Was expecting for it to not have a good placement but to end up as dead last sure was unexpected.

Regarding Yuuna, unless they officially announce its ending I wont believe the leaks. Nevertheless, this is all screaming of final arc, or at least building up to it. This definitely smells of Endgame

Jump very rarely announces endings. Usually they just say "climax" a chapter or two before the end and that's that.
It's only rather recent that we're getting all these "ending announcements" ahead of time.

Is that even from the chinese leakers? The Japanese spoilers make no mention of such an announcement. The only thing I can find with a cursory search is that the guy who posted chinese leak pictures to 4chan said it was ending it two chapters, but the images themselves contain no such announcement, and what end of chapter text is visible appears to be standard end of chapter text and consistent with the Japanese spoilers.

Seeing the Yuuna spoilers, this really could end soon enough, either in the next 2 chapters (which will close the Volume 22 and it is where the assumptions/rumors come up) or in Volume 23 (so 11 more chapters to go).

Tanaka wrote Kagijin and Hitomi no Catoblepas before writing Summer Time Render
Horikoshi followed his master's steps and wrote Oumagadoki Zoo and Barrage before writing MHA

Shibata is just following his shisho and his shisho's shisho and writing 2 flops before writing a hit

*holding back tears* yoko yata Shibata

I don't see what's the reason for celebrating the sales of either Yozakura or Mitama, both are in the axe territory
debuting in 40s and 50s in shoseki ranking suggest >10k sales

jump have axed and axing titles with similar or bigger sales, with Kamio Yui being the most recent one
RxL, Hungry Marie, Cross Account, Mononofu, Soul Catchers etc all died with better sales than this

When's the next Jump GIGA anyway?
not revealed yet, but they the most recent Giga have changed from releasing multiple issues per season to releasing only 1 issue per season
which makes starting miniseries and moving ending series to Giga impracticable

So, question about Kimetsu's popularity poll. Since they're announcing the results in August, does this mean it'll go up all the way till then? Meaning, the series will be extended pas this year....

I think there was a series that had its popularity poll announced after it ended. Can't remember which, though.

Yui debuts at around rank 60 im pretty sure so yoza and mitama are doing better than the 2019 newbies. Also digital matters a lot more than it used to, so it could very much factor in.

It probably mean it's been extended. There are series that have popular polls after they ended but they're mostly in the variety of anniversary polls.

That's like 30 chapters, isn't it? I can easily see that if not more, considering how slow this final battle has been going on. Not only is there a lot left to get to, but the financial incentive to drag it out and expand the arc is enormous. I wouldn't be surprised if it won't even end this year.

it's about the same, and we don't know if they're doing better, positions are irrelevant
debating 100s in on a strong week
is better than debating 40 on a weak week

>digital sales meme
why does digital matter more in 2020 than 2019?
and if digital sales are negligible for giants titles doesn't that makes them nonexistent for smaller titles?

So if Yuuna is indeed ending, then did it get axed or something? If that's the case, then it doesn't really make sense considering Samurai 8 exists. And if it isn't ending, then what's with the rapid devlopements?

So many questions, not enough answers....

How many loose ends are there still in Yuuna as of now? Are there to many or not so much? I haven’t been up to date with it for the last months
