Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Would those be known this early (or ever)?
I think I saw a monthly chart for january sales in the US, but it had very few actual numbers for mangas so I doubt we'll actually get concrete info about S8.

Shueisha is aware that Part 1 actually ends at Vol 61, right? Not Vol 60?
Yeah but only the first 3 or so chapters cover pre-TS for volume 61 so probably that's why

I know, but it's still kinda awkward when the intent is pretty clearly to get more newer readers caught up with the series.

They can always release those three chapters too and that's it. News don't mention anything about it so it's just a guess, but it may not be strictly those first 60 volumes, but still not fully 61 either.

I don't think it's as easy as they should have made it sooner. And the fact that the same Momiyama stated only a few months ago how they were studying NOW how to give the earnings of the website to mangaka, means MANGA Plus' revenue was near to nothing, and probably only allowed for the website to sustain itself. The fact that it keeps being completely free and has 0 ad intrusiveness also plays a big role. And still, these numbers are probably nowhere near the traffic some other illegal websites could move. Getting licensors, freelance staff, editors and a whole team to do this has probably taken them a lot, even if the result could be way, way better. I'll just hope these numbers will make them put more effort and resources into improving the whole system.
If illegal sources have been doing it for over a decade, there is no excuse for the biggest manga publisher in the world with millions of dollars to be so slow digitalizing their media's consumption. Half a year of removing some major illegal sites have given them a massive increase in readership. Imagine if this was done years ago.

Again, this has been the case of WSJ and Shueisha sticking to their old methods and not moving beyond that. If they had done this years ago, more opportunities and ideas would've opened up for them on how they could compensate mangaka.

Changes like these can often lead to a huge change in markets over the course of 5-10 years meaning had Shueisha done this sooner, there was a chance we might have had a very different market right now and possibly a lot more opportunities for unknown authors.

Better late than never, I guess.

I think the whole question about this topic is, and will be, how profitable the west has been for Jump during these past years and what importance did they give it to it. Because even if we probably have near to 0 data or answers to that topic, I honestly think the market we conform was not as big, as profitable and important as it is nowadays. It would have been better sooner? Most likely, there's no denial in that. But even with all the logistic implications and difficulties it can bring up, it needs to be worth it. I'll just keep blindly trusting for even better platforms and opportunities in the future.

Well One Piece seems to be getting like -100 views a week and Death Note is still #1 despite no real change in views so unless we figure out how their refreshing works the views are pointless
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

One Piece apparently doesn't even have 500000 views yet since the big reset about a month ago and Demon Slayer just passed that threshold. Maybe someone paying closer attention to the numbers can explain it but it does not seem very healthy compared to what was said lol

About the Bleach/Kubo stuff, basically confirmed the anime is returning unless they want a real shitstorm teasing the characters of the last arc just to not be the anime.

The new work from Kubo, if is a serialization of Burn The Witch, good luck with that because he will need, it worked as a one shot expanding Bleach's world but a whole story? i don't know, would prefer something totally new.

Seems like Manga Plus totally killed the fun in following the rankings and views =S

Evidently the countdown for the site started at 366 hours which was also the last episode number of Bleach's anime.
So yeah, it's definitely heavily hinting towards the anime's return at this point

If the anime is returning, it’ll feel weird, since it’ll be a case of fans actually getting what they want after a long time. Kind of like Log Horizon 3 being confirmed. I’ll be happy for Bleach fans for sticking by the series and begging for a return of the anime all this time. Hopefully it’s seasonal, too, and less like Fairy Tail’s final season.

I'm almost certain they can do the final arc in 25-30 episodes. There's really not "that" much material to cover tbh.

The final Bleach arc was, what, just over 200 chapters? They could adapt the whole thing in 4 cour easily considering Bleach's pacing.

Checking the chapter lists and descriptions quickly, two seasons of 25-26 eps would work out well since the first could end on ch 581, which is just about halfway through and means they can end with Ichigo's big BEHIND YOU moment, joining the battlefield to help Kenpachi vs the girls. Though if it's Pierrot again then one continuous run is more likely.
