Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I would like if they add Kinnikuman

I also want a mangaplus equivalent app for WSM but that's off topic
Does Viz even have the license for Kinnikuman anymore?

I don't understand why they put manga basically no one reads and not manga like New Prince of Tennis that would probably get at least some views, already has an established fanbase and hasn't have translated chapters in a long time.. Also, it's not super word heavy, so not difficult to translate.

Other manga that would probably do well are as mentioned JojoLion and.. Maybe Kinnikuman? Idk, I do know that series like Captain Tsubasa are in Mangaplus Spanish version, so maybe they will translate future releases, Kinnikuman was pretty popular in certain parts of Spain from what I know (They got the full first original manga released in Catalan, but not Nisei.. so maybe it didn't sell super well..)

I don't really understand how views work in mangaplus (Do they get reset every week?)

For example this manga:

It says it has 10,984 views, but does it mean it got 10,984 views this week or in total, for the entirety of its 72 chapter run?

Then there's this series:

It has 991 views..

Even if it's weekly views that's certainly not paying for the translation work, assuming they earn Idk let's say $2 dollars per thousand views which is probably better CPM than what they earn.. Those 991 views are less than $2 USD, obviously not enough to pay a translator..

It's pretty obvious that the big series like One Piece, Kimetsu, etc are subsidizing the less popular ones (basically like publishers for physical books too) but I don't think it would kill them to release series like Gintama officially.. Maybe not Gintama because scans of it are available and it probably wuldn't get that many views,, but say New Prince of Tennis (or any other popular and established serials from other Jump magazines), which I guess worldwide would probably get let's say 20,000 views per chapter probably.

This also reminds me of Yowamushi Pedal and how it hasn't had any scanned chapters in like a year, other publishers should do this, Akita Shoten's Weekly Shonen Champion has Baki and Yowamushi Pedal, I know I'd pay a $1 a month for online weekly releases of those series.

Rant over/

Once again:

- What we are seeing are the accumulated views of the last 35 days
- New views are added once per hour, on the hour
- Older views are deleted once per day, at 4 PM WET

I explained it here.

MangaPlus also has Terra Formars from Weekly Young Jump, though that's only the first 6 chapters uploaded in January 2019 and no updates since then.

But yeah, it would be nice to expand M+ with some Young Jump series. Kaguya-sama would probably get some good views.
Ending with this chapter: S8, Blue Flag

Ending with this volume (probably): Zipman, TPN, Spotless, WNL?

Ending with this arc / in the next 6 months (probably): Kimetsu, Platinum End, HQ (could be a long arc), GotW (I'm sorry, I just can't see it pull through), Moonland?

Yeah, they better give us some new titles to make up for this bloodbath.

Actually, going off the spoilers, I feel like KnY *could* end at chapter 200.

Wouldn't they have already let us know if Kimetsu was gonna end that quick? I'd imagine they'd want to promote the shit out of that.
