It feels really weird seeing KNY have such a weak week with all volumes selling less than 50,000 copies. TPN is down by over 13,000 copies when compared to volume 17, a considerable amount, while MHA is down by almost 9,000 copies when compared to volume 25. It seems MHA will outsell by a small margin, or they will sell virtually the same amount. HQ is down by over 16,000 copies, a considerable drop, but it has a LE out so part of its sales probably went to it. JJK is up by almost 20,000 copies when compared to both volumes 8 and 9, hoping it gets to 200,000 copies in its second week soon. Amazing growth by CSM, volume 5 sold over 78,000 copies in its second week, while volume 6 is already over 105,000 copies, It's a 27,000 growth. It's already selling more than DS, AA and WNL did with their respective 6th volumes, showing its trailing it's way to become one of the magazines best sellers in the future. Jigokuraku is pretty much on par with the previous volume, no actual drop, no actual drop, the series might have found a plateau.

Wait, where did my post about M+ go?

We are allowed to talk about M+, right? Is this a glitch or something?

Actually, going off the spoilers, I feel like KnY *could* end at chapter 200.
It wouldn't be enough to fill the last volume, they need 6 additional chapters to do so. It will either end in a month and two weeks or it will last an additonal two volumes and will end in late spring.

Huh, that's odd. Your post showed as a double post, so I deleted the duplicate, and now both are gone.

That shouldn't have happened. Anyway, I can restore it.

There's precedent for authors ending without enough content for an entire volume, and also authors ending with too many chapters, e.g. I remember the last volume of Shaman King and Dragon Ball being extra thick, think 200-220ish pages instead of the usual 180 pages.

As for authors ending their series with some space left in the volumes I can remember Yu Yu Hakusho, Togashi did like a sketch for like 20 characters if memory is correct to fill the blank pages.. I assume it was so the volume wasn't 160 pages instead of the usual minimum 180 pages (What's usually 9 chapters of 19 pages manga + some extras).

Hikaru No Go also had an extra chapter gaiden in its last volume and some character sketches. Though the volume is 200 pages long so maybe those were just extras..

I mean if Gotouge wants to end in in the rounded up number 200 (Which if he ends in say 201 or 202 or something would just trigger... something in me haha like just end it in 200! It's a nice number!) Anyway, if it Gotouge does decide to end KnY in chapter 200 there are different ways Shueisha could handle it (They have done it in the past), they can print the next volumes with an extra chapter each, 10 chapters instead of 9, increasing the volume's price a little bit..
Or they could tell Gotouge to make some extra monthly chapters in SQ or even WSJ (I think Shokugeki no Soma did this, though I'm not sure if the extra chapters were published in the last tankobon).

Or maybe the final chapter is extra long (I think series like Nurarihyon had a super long chapter I don't remember).

But if KNY would end in chapter 200 (Which is next week, right?) they would have said that in this issue.. right? Like it would probably have been part of the spoiler.

That would be...a bit weird? I doubt it'll end next chapter, I think there'll probably be a couple more.

Technically it's up 1k, for what it counts I guess lol. I think it's too early to say it hit a plateau though, I'd give it atleast 1 more volume. We'll probably get a better idea of how high the demand for Kimetsu still is once the reprints hit the stores.

Also growths for JJK and CSM are indeed pretty crazy.

Well in the preview it said 7 days left for a new dawn so no hints of being the final chapter or something. More like the emotional chapters are coming in.

It could be said the same with Neverland, it got a cover with the same description (climax of the climax) and still will go with another few chapters.

JJK seems to be heading to the 200k while CSM will probably land at the 130k ish, I saw some stores reporting stock outages with volume 6 though, so 140k is also possible after the restock.
Both did pretty well
I want to see how AA will do next batch

I have to say, it's nice to see Yozakura selling over 12,000 copies in its first month, it has sold better than all other newbies from the past year apart from CSM and S8. Sad there's no Mitama though.

Seems unlikely to me. Volume 23 won't be finished for the series until chapter 205. Right now it'd be half full at 200. Plus given the way the series has done things, a few chapters for an epilogue seems up it's alley. So I'd say it looks on track to finish at chapter 205, with chapter 200 being the climax and maybe an ending announcement; barring something unexpected that would point to a longer continuation.

Yeah, either a month and a half, or not until late summer, especially with the popularity poll results being in August.

Ending with this chapter: S8, Blue Flag

Ending with this volume (probably): Zipman, TPN, Spotless, WNL?

Ending with this arc / in the next 6 months (probably): Kimetsu, Platinum End, HQ (could be a long arc), GotW (I'm sorry, I just can't see it pull through), Moonland?

Yeah, they better give us some new titles to make up for this bloodbath.
Wasnt it confirmed that haikyuu's final arc is going to be a long arc?

I think it will still grow. I'm not worried as it could be that people purchased digitally due to what's going on....Then again CSM experienced an actual growth. I guess we will see in the next volume.

Yeah, Haikyu's final arc is going to be long as hell. They've only finished the first set thus far.

I blame Jigokuraku on Jump+'s lack of promo game. They do some fantastic series, but the nature of the platform means active promotion for series is basically non-existent aside from Spy x Family.

Wouldn't this be because of Covid-19?. I mean, the folks at Japan probably can't go out and buy manga as they like, only sticking to essential tasks like grocery shopping.

Why put the blame on Jigoku?

1. Doesn't change the rest of manga sales, from the looks of it.

2. Most reports have said Covid-19 has been far less devastating in Japan than much of the West.

Probably has something to do with Japanese folk actually listening and acting on the necessary precautions instead of filling the streets like dumbasses like I've seen in pretty much every western country.
