Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

@Mankichi Togawa:
Sure, the decision is up to you. You can remove Lost Canvas OR add Soten no Ken to keep the list consistent, but keep in mind Soten No Ken isn't the only anime that's a spin off of a series that used to run in WSJ.. Out of the top of my head I imagine Mazinger has had lots of crazy spin offs too haha.

Also, have you considered including live action/ real movie adaptations? If you do I could help you with the list :) It could even be a list of its own.

Youre missing Toriko's OVA...dont blame you cuz a lot of people forget it when they bring up Kimetsu as being Ufo's first WSJ adaptation.

Edit: You missed out OP/HxH/BC OVA's so Im guessing you're not including OVA's for series that eventually got an anime?

Maybe because they adapted a "sizable" amount of the story (as opposed to just one/part of a chapter)?
The Takeshi OVA adapted some of the first chapter so I don't think so but generally there's so many OVA's to keep track of.

Shiibashi moving to Jump Plus is too predictable, sad, another talent lost by WSJ...

Damn, that one image looks more interesting that literally all of Yui Kamio.
Why? it's a military blond bishounen guy looking like it came out of a yaoi magazine, despite this is just a image kkkkk

Why? Jump+ isn't some sort of dead end for authors, it's a great environment for them to foster more unique personal works that might not find success in print magazines otherwise.

Many authors that struggled in more mainstream magazines like WSJ and SQ have ended up successful on the platform. Just look at Tatsuya Endo, Yuuji Kaku, and KAITO, and those are the obvious examples.

Moving to Jump+ might be the best thing to happen to Shiibashi. Even if he creates another flop, he'll still have much more room to experiment with it than he could in WSJ. Even underperforming series on Jump+ are given ample to time wrap up and explore the themes they set up, Curtain's up, I'm off is a good example of this.

(Also, he's hardly a "talent lost by WSJ", both publications work in the same space, and even have an overlap in editors.)

Agravity is almost at 2k followers on twitter, that's pretty fast. Do Mitama and Yozakura have a twitter pages, and if they do how many followers do they have?

Neither of them have one, unfortunately :scry. UNDEAD UNLUCK has about 3,600 though (over a slightly longer timeframe).

Yeah, Undead Unluck got that twitter page pretty fast. Do you think Jump is taking the JPN impression poll into consideration, because Undead and Agravity are pretty high on there, and maybe trying to promote them further because of that?

Probably less that they're taking that specific poll into account and more that the poll (or at least Undead and Agravity's positions on it) are indicitive of general response Jump has been seeing in Japan. They must have a variety of reasons to assume promoting these titles at this point will be worthwhile.

It's possible, but unless someone can break into Nakano's house and steal his search history, no one will ever know.

How? Yui bombed badly, it's only reasonable he'd be thrown to the side.
It didn't "bombed badly" if it was the case wouldn't have survived for 36 chapters, the rankings weren't even terrible too, it was just a flop (And don't bring the "its a famous author", Shiibashi isn't really a big name)

Why? Jump+ isn't some sort of dead end for authors, it's a great environment for them to foster more unique personal works that might not find success in print magazines otherwise.
I'm not saying Jump Plus is a dead end but that WSJ is losing another talent for the platform because their more than flawed system when it comes to veterans, but this is too much of a complex topic for the moment.

How does Jump have a "flawed system" for treating veterans? Or are you arguing they mistreated Samurai 8?

You really need a answer for this? kkkkk
Yes? Because I literally have no idea what you're complaining about. Shiibashi and Kishimoto launched new series, those series were not well received, those series died. I fail to see where the fault is.
