Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I looked at Shoseki now and the page is updated with 4/3 but i guess is a mistake and is actually 4/2 because there is only OP there lol

That's pretty good, right?
The placement is bumped back a bit both by digital editions + Kimetsu volumes, so more or less?

Honto is only one store, it's important to remember.

Yozakura dropped? No surprise.

2.5D is something of a rising star on Jump+, so that's a good sign.

Honto rankings, as well as any ranking, doesn't have fixated values for any position. They're all as relative as they can individually get.

Not super happy seeing a drop for Yozakura, even if it's a fairly small one, happy for both Undead and Agravity for being above it though?

Need to wait for Shoseki, but if you take out the endless Kimetsu wall that would be something like

Undead # 17
Agravity # 34
Yozakura # 39

I think? To give perspective on what it would've been like before the Kimetsu boost.

First Yozakura volume charted at #40 with al 19 Kimetsu volumes + Gotouge one shots, so if you take them out, all of 3 would chart quite better than this.

Agravity seems to be doing better than I expected - might actually survive. Undead Unluck is doing a good job with its sales hurdle. Yozakura’s quite dicey, and it seems as if it’s declining already. Rankings are relative and we won’t have any sort of real sense of how much each sold until the weekly numbers come out.

Such a shame that COVID19 will affect this months batch and next one too, being a newbie releasing a volume right now would be way too difficult and we probably wont get the full picture of how all these series could have performed if it wasn't for exterior world situations. Atleast the first rankings we are getting are good for some of them.

COVID19 isn't really making that many waves in Japan, though, at least compared to the rest of the world.

ehhhhh, it's still on the rise there, movies have started to get delayed like in America, it's only going to get worse from here.

I think as long as they don't declare national emergency/lockdown, it will be fine I suppose. (?)

"Thank you for using Animate. Due to the prevention of the spread of the new coronavirus infection and the request to refrain from going out, that was recently announced, some stores will be closed temporarily during the following period of April 4 and 5." "For now closed temporarily: Animate Ikebukuro MAIN STORE, Animate Akihabara MAIN ■ Animate Shibuya ■ Animate Shinjuku" "Thanks for your understanding and consent, as some other shops may be closed." "From April 6 (Mon), we plan to shorten the sales time to 11:00-20:00"

Animate, one of the main bookstore chains, is starting to close some stores during its weekend and shortening the attention times, they are having measures to evitate the propagation of the virus and there have been more and more cases in Tokyo. Also Japan also has a problem that they dont do much testings, thats why we see them low in cases. (it has the same problem that we have here in Mexico.)

So it is absolutely making waves and just as now the government is only taking more measures to try to stop the propagation, probably because they finally postponed the Olympics? or who knows. All the industries are taking a hit, so I dont think the manga industry will be the only one to not take it.

So that's how Shueisha stops Kimetsu from breaking the record!
I'm joking, I'm joking.
