Moderator Notice: Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.
These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I keep forgetting the Olympics were moved to Summer 2021... Yeah, I kinda agree they would prevent overlapping with the Olympics and just premiere in the Fall of 2021...
I think so.
Japan is taking little to no measures against the virus as of yet, meaning big troubles in the future for the country. The daily cases have also been growing in Japan as of lately.
This manga going on hiatus will probably the first of many
#1 One Piece 96
#3 Dr. Stone 15
#4 Black Clover 24
#6 We Never Learn 16
#10 Yuuna and the Haunted Hotsprings 21
#29 Undead Unluck
#45 Agravity Boys
#47 Mission: Yozakura Family 2
#268 Zipman!!
So it seems Agravity Boys is decently popular and is showing good growth potential, which means it's probably not going to end in the next two weeks.
So what're we going to see finish? None of the long-runners seem ready to end in only 2-3 chapters, GIGA isn't getting a finale like with Shokugeki, Yozakura's still doing okay, they're still promoting Mitama with colour pages, and none of the other new stuff is worth cancelling yet.
Maybe they'll just have an extra series for a few weeks? Neverland could probably end in 5 chapters or so if there's no other big twist (or something could get a finale in the 2nd or 3rd GIGA issue).
Now that Haikyuu is over until Summer and MHA is over until I don't know when, what anime do we get this Spring besides Black Clover and One Piece? Is this going to be the first season since Summer 2018 without any seasonal Jump anime?

Glad to see UU doing well, AB is doing better than I expected it to and Yozakura is stable and holding well. No need to say anything about Zipman but Ripman.
I am curious how high Mashle's first volume will get now as Jump seems to place similar if not higher hopes on it than UU.
Mangaka working completely analogue should already be the exception these days anyway, so assistants staying at home can be easy for most mangaka.
Though, of course, some older mangaka might have problems, since they are most likely to be stuck on the old way of doing things. And Oda does hate digital drawing too, right? Jump might wanna force him into digital now.
Impossible for us to say at the moment. We don't know how many Jump mangaka have or haven't transitioned to digital work. The ones that have can likely have their assistants set up to work from home, while the mangaka themself works from home or stays at their studio. Similarly the editors won't necessarily need to meet with the mangaka in person to discuss things.

I mean, as long as they have a personal scanner, which I’m sure most do, it’s pretty simple and easy to draw you work traditionally, scan it, bring it to photoshop, add a levels or curves layers, and then emailing the work to the assistants and then they can add their work digitally on photoshop or clip.
It’s not very hard to seamlessly combine digital and traditional art, especially since they’re all working in black and white.
Even if the mangaka wants everything to be 100% traditionally done, as long as the assistants have a printer, and either Bristol or Watercolor paper, which they should if they’re making comics, the mangaka could easily scan the images, email into the, and they can print out the images on high quality Bristol and just continue working traditionally. And then just rescan everything

Hmmm, so in America MHA has 5 Million copies in print
Speaking of that, does somebody have a list of the ones we do know? I know that Togashi still uses traditional. Miura and Fujimoto do digital, but what about the others? Anyone else know?

Usazaki does digital work too, she occasionally talks about it in her author comments (it also looks like Matsuki does the storyboards digitally based on some of his tweets).
