I assume Viz's number isn't just US but also Canada and UK (their books all have the prices in USD, CAD and UK Pounds so I assume they sell in those areas)

French sell-through is ~2.5m

In France alone, HeroAca has sold around 2.5m since its release in 2016 (2016: 240k; 2017: 500k; 2018: 700k; 2019: 840k)

First three are from a blog that has access to GfK data (you need to pay and be a company related to the market, such as a library, to have access to their data). Last one from Le figaro, a newspaper, also GfK data. The yearly numbers are usually revealed around the time of the Angoulème comic con

Meaning there are actually more copies in print, probably at least 3m if you consider that a new volume released in 2020 in early January.

Speaking in Discord, MHA being 5 million in USA is really big. Seems that Naruto with a similar amount of volumes was in less than 2 million copies.

Back when Attack on Titan was huge, Kodansha used to report the mile stones, 100k, 500k, 1mil, 2mil. I don't think they released any numbers after 2mil.

We don't really get much hard sales data from the US as far as I'm aware, but considering MHA is always doing well in charts of US comics sales, yeah 5 Mil is probably a lot.

In WSJ alone, OP, KnY, MHA, TPN, Haikyuu and maybe BC, JJK already sell better than Bort.
Then Young Jump, at least in my head that I can think of, Kingdom, Golden Kamuy and Kaguya.
Jump+, don't forget SxF.
Also, let's not forget the rest of Jump SQ, other seinen, shoujo and josei manga that Shueisha has.

Shouldn't be no.

The last two years, Oricon only published the Top 10 of the best selling manga of the year, and Shueisha already had 7 titles in both of these lists.
(2019: One Piece, KnY, Kingdom, TPN, MHA, Haikyu, Kaguya-sama)
(2018: One Piece, MHA, Slam Dunk, Haikyu, Kindgom, TPN, TG:re)

So Boruto at best could at best be rank 8-10, but seeing as Boruto also doesn't appear in the Top 50 volumes of the year ranking at all... yeah, probably not. One Punch Man, JJK, and Golden Kamuy probably outsell it.
