Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Damn, you guys were hungry to vote in World Trigger huh kkkk
What can you say? A lot of people save WT. Plus these chapters were the conclusion of an arc that'd been running for the better part of the series.

WT is still well liked even after that long hiatus, the conclusion of this arc also got trending on Japan Twitter, fans over there really stayed loyal to Ashihara considering that his sales didn't drop but even rose after the hiatus ended and he was able to publish volumes again. That is nice.

Mitama really reminded me of Samon this week. NumaShun's faces were easily the strongest part of his comedy.

I miss Samon.
I was thinking the same thing when I read it earlier today. The faces Mitama was making in this week's chapter were like wholesome versions of Samon's scum faces. I'm not sure if Numa Shun will come back to WSJ soon, but I hope at the very least he starts up another comedy on Jump+ soon while I wait his triumphant return to the main magazine. If E-Robot/Love Rush's author can find success on Jump+ and Spring Weapon's author can come back for a third shot, I hope they give him his second chance.

I've seen this title before, I don't remember where.
No info about this yet?

You know, with how long Samon managed to stick around, I have this delusional hope that Mitama might stick around for 10 volumes, but we'll just have to wait and see...

I have a question btw. Wasn't the oneshot of Ultramarine Battle in the issue that was just before the issue with Bone Collection oneshot? Ultramarine Battle was good.

I have a hunch Time Paradox Writer is going to be a romantic manga very similar than Cross Account (aka romdrama and not romcom).

PD2: With the good reception the Agravity-Mitama-Mashle trio have in internet, I can't wait to see Mori King reception

okay tinfoil theory, with the pandemic going around, wouldn't Jump give some leisure to on-going series?

Like if a series get serialized, then you have to hire assistants. What i'm trying to say is it's easier for the current on going series to transit to WFH, then a new series

Probably stock issues again, but still funny to see. Also.

It's only Amazon, but seeing this kind of reception at least in 1 store is nice.
Yozakura again going out of stock on Amazon and Agravity too? :beer

Sometimes I just ask myself: what the fuck

For what it's worth, Mitama Security's volume 1 is listed as only having 20 copies left with more on the way for Amazon too

Kimetsu: Well. This could be another arc. Or not.

Dr Stone: ... I liked last week's chapter, but this one should've been left on the drawing board. Cramming four different storylines into one chapter doesn't work, especially when none of them are relevant to the story at hand.

BC: Yaay info dump plot progress more lore.

MHA: For a moment I thought they were going the Kimetsu route.

TPN: Retreat? Where are you even going to- nevermind, DEMon fixed it.

WNL: Congratulations! You both deserve the Darwin Award. Please adopt the dead girl, she's smarter than the two of you combined.

Mashle: When did this turn into "What Harry Potter would've been like if half the school were Malfoy's"?
Some good moments, but the freaky guy is annoying.

Act-Age confused me. But I'm guessing that was the intent.

Yozakura was both cute and surprising. The series is now doing what it does best.

UU: Gotta love the in-laws. Not the strongest chapter ever, but I really like all of the characters and that doesn't happen too often (last time was with The 7 Deadly Sins, which also has a great cast).
Also, the effect doesn't work on children? That's interesting.

Mitama: And this one is the opposite. I now actively dislike all of the characters. Dropped.

GotW: Is it me, or do the fights look even more static than usual? That close-up of her face is beautiful though.

Zipman: The ending is kind of cute. I would've liked to see the guy return to his body.

AgrB: The setting is more imaginative now that we are finally expanding the universe, but the jokes and the logic make my head hurt. (Anyone else wondering how many crates of apples Baba is worth? We might not be seeing the whole number...)

Mangaplus broke again, goddamn it! Are they all sitting in quarantine and hitting refresh the moment its release time or what?
Probably.

With Yokazura, UxU, Agravity Boys, Mashle, and Mitama all doing well in either sales or TOC placement(or both); I’m wondering the standards of what gets axed will change assuming this trend continues.
Like if the 2 series in the next batch also sell or place well, there’s no way they’re going to keep 7 newer series despite them all doing decent by modern Jump standards

ToC placements are more important to wsj than sales, We just saw Samurai 8 get cancelled despite selling probably 5 times as much (or more) than Mitama, since nobody voted for it in the magazine. Agravity Boys might sell well enough but if it stays in dead last most weeks it won't live for too long. Same for anything else that drops (especially if their sales don't grow much in their next volumes).

That said, there are 5 long-running series that could end this year so, between that and the 8 spots filled by series less than a year old, there may actually be space for 7 new hits.

Dr. Stone will end up like Promised Neverland if it continues to trot out chapters like this.

Undead chapters also give me striking familiarity with early DGM especially in the way they’re conducting missions, the organization, and the Umas themselves. What’s up with the underground?

Zipman last chapters were so much better than the first ten. There was more emotion with the brothers and if he had planned it better, this series could have found an audience. Hoping Shibata strikes hit hit with the next series if he‘s willing to return.

Yeah, hopefully Agravity Boys rises in rank. That was the first time it was dead last. I think it should be higher next week since chapter 10 introduced
the other group
(Idk if I had to spoiler tag that)
