Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Small corner shops in Japan (which usually stock the magazines) mostly have food and drink and other essentials so there'll be plenty of places to ship the magazine to. The question is if Shueisha themselves plan to keep going as usual (I expect they will since Japan's lockdown is much lighter than most countries are largely voluntary from what I've heard, but we'll just need to wait and see).

I would be happy with no leaks, people posting to official accounts with leaks is still the dumbest shit ever.

Which means....no shipments of the newest magazine issue for the foreseeable future? Which also means no early scans and a switch to digital-only?
This seems to only cover seven prefectures from what I'm reading.

Two anime series (OreGairu and No Guns No Life) just got postponed and they were supposed to start airing in only 2 days. I have a feeling Shokugeki no Souma season 5 might follow suit and with how hectic Black Clover's schedule is I fear they will have to go on break soon because if anything the state of emergency probably won't last a single month. I don't know about One Piece's schedule though.

This really makes me wonder if it had a decent first print and was popular enough to sell out/get close to selling out(which would be nice, as it'd put Yozakura and Undead Unluck as selling even more than I thought), or if it just had a relatively small first print and happened to sell more than Shueisha expected.

Very likely.

In the cases of seasonal animes it could be almost a good thing ....

Would Kimetsu still be on a trajectory of beating the 2011 record by half-year if the state of emergency only lasts a month? Volume 20 releases May 1st so
It's unlikely that the measures will last exactly one month if the rest of the world is anything to go by.

In case they do, however, then yeah, should have no problems (even assuming it sells 0 during this month it would only have to do about ~ 3.2mln including what it probably sold this week, but it will still sell since these measures only include certain prefectures so far afaik). Half year chart should go up to may 17th this year if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, JP just now began to get emergencial state against it so it'll be much later out of this situation compared to other countries.

Konbini stores (Family Mart, 7 / 11, Lawson etc) will be open, so Japanese people might be able to buy their Shonen Jump.
I'm pretty sure we might have those leaks as usual.

It's actually impressive how, even with all that popularity buzz both AB and UU had, seeing them have reprints screams to me their initial prints are low as fuck, like 10k copies maximum even. Also expecting Yozakura at this point to be reprinted since its situation in stores like Amazon is pretty much the same (shipping in 1-4 weeks). But damn, thought at least UU would have a bit of a higher print.

The first volume of Yozakura was reprinted twice, the second reprint was released along with the second volume so it must take time to be reprinted again.

why would it get delayed? Getting voice actors to talk over coloured manga panels that they sometimes move the mouth for has probably been done for months!

Bold of you to assume that's how the anime industry works.

Yeah, those are the major ones. I'm not familiar with Jump's shipment process, so I am also not which prefectures get their copies first.

They already said they're going to last a month. I doubt they'll lift the restrictions earlier than they expected, even if signs show the disease is slowing down. Better to err on the side of caution, in this case.
