Agravity Boys I think has been bottom 5 every ranking so far, multiple times only being above Samurai 8 and Zipman which are both now cancelled (as such it's now dead last), it has the worst toc performance in the magazine. Granted Guardian of the Witch is still new and doesn't look too hopeful, but it at least had ch 1 be out of the bottom 5.
Fact is, Agravity Boys is the current top runner for cancellation. Sure it could suddenly jump up but so could anything else.
About that list, I would put Act-Age and Chainsaw Man on Mainstays as they are already on that level, with Act-Age with two years already and Chainsaw with one.

I’m sorry, but I have to disagree here. Honestly, I think TOC is usually a reflection of a manga’s sales: Why promote something heavily if it’s failing to sell? The TOC is important early on for a series because to me the answer is “we don’t know how well it’s selling yet.” But as the series goes on and the volumes come out, we get more concrete information on how well the series is doing. Almost every time, if a series’s volume sales isn’t selling well enough and/or goes on a downward trajectory from the jump, it will be axed.
I remember quite a few people thinking that Yozakura would be axed before Volume 1 came out and actually performed better than anyone was expecting. I specifically remember one meme from that. The same might happen to Agravity Boys. I don’t think AB is out of the fire yet, as we need to see how the series does in it’s second week, as well as whether or not Volume 2 increases, decreases, or keeps stable the sales from Volume 1. But it isn’t a complete flop yet, despite the TOC ranking.

I mentioned that Mainstays have had an anime confirmed for the series at some point, which hasn’t happened to Act Age or Chainsaw Man. In terms of sales, they’ve likely surpassed Yuuna already.

The thing is, the TOC factors multiple things, that we the audience aren’t even 100% sure on what those factors are all the time.
You taking acting as though the TOC is purely “Each series is ranked from the most votes to the least amount of votes” which isn’t the case.
All we know is that
Top Placements = Popular Series
Bottom = Unpopular series.
If you’re in the bottom 5 it doesn’t matter what is above what. All 5 series aren’t popular. And same goes for the top series regarding popularity.
However at the moment we have a weird situation which we haven’t seen in a while. The last couple of recent batches are all pulling in decent sales(with Mitama pulling in decent placements). Agravity Boys, UxU, Yozakura, Mashle, and Mitama are all decently popular for being brand new series based on a combination of sales and TOC. So even if Yozakura and Agravity Boys are places at the bottom, the sales for each series are telling us otherwise. So it’s difficult to say what will be axed now.
Point is, “Jump values the TOC more than sales” makes no sense when Jump decides on the TOC themselves.
Agravity Boys (and possibly Guardian) is the only one that is definitely at risk of being cancelled is the thing. Mitama is still getting colour pages and promotional stuff, Yozakura bounces up and down in the ToC with some okay placements like this issue, and Undead and Mashle have had pretty good starts.
It doesn't matter what the ToC is based on because Agravity Boys is dead last in it either way and has never left the bottom 5. You can speculate on it secretly being really popular all you want but right now, it is objectively the worst performing series in the ToC, and if WSJ's placing a new series at the bottom of the ToC every issue it's generally not a good sign for its future.
What it'll come down to really is if it can get out of the bottom and get above Mitama and Yozakura consistently (Undead and Mashle are probably safe for a while so whatever gets cancelled next batch is between those 3 and Guardian, whichever's doing the worst a few months from now) but so far, it hasn't been doing that.

I have no clue what'll end this batch though since we need one more and the new series are either doing well enough or too new to end, and none of the long runners I feel like could end in just a couple chapters.
Maybe WSJ will just have an extra series around for a while, to make up for having a empty spot for a couple months last year.
It's safe to say that ToC positions don't really matter once the ball gets rolling, I mean just look at Jojo. If Agravity manages to get a somewhat decent ranking for the next 5 weeks and decent volume sales, maybe it'll survive.
Stuff that can last forever with bottom placements are previously successful series that still sell well though, as in 100k+ per volume sales. Agravity Boys looks like it'll maybe get just over 10k at best which is decent for new series these days but very far from 'safe at the bottom' level unless wsj decides it's interesting.
They'll obviously place it at a night time slot. No way the production committee is giving a series that violent a daytime/afternoon or even evening slot.
It'll still be censored on the TV broadcast but that's why we got BD/DVD's. I remember vento aureo had a lot of blood even in its TV broadcast, still censored at times though. Anyway I hope David Pro gets CSM.

Are you referring to Jojo's ToC placements? Because JoJo and something like Agravity or Mitama are two very different things when their placements are concerned.

I think Agravity will survive. Wasn't Yozakura dead last most of the time until volume 1 came out and it wasn't cancelled early.? We should wait to see if Agravity is dead last continuously. Let's just wait for the upcoming TOC and see if anything changes
Uhhh, that's debatable. Usually if a new series sells well enough, WSJ would just push it up the rankings and have it wobble up and down the ranking a lot. If something stays near the bottom, it might only be surviving because other newer series are doing worse overall.
One thing I am almost certain of is, leaks & TOC will be slow in the next few weeks, if at all. Between this and sports getting cancelled, the days are going to be longer...... Prayer circle for your favourite mangakas everyone
Duh, you from Italy, you know how this shit goes.
Fyi, Japan have only tested like 50k, a really, really tiny amount. Let's just compare to, Italy for example, they have tested 750k.
Let's just be pessimistic so nothing in the future would disappoint.
